Israeli protesters gathered outside the office of Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Sunday (July 13), demanding the return of the remaining 50 hostages still being held in Gaza.
Protesters said time was running out and chanted while holding banners bearing pictures of the hostages.
Shay Dickson, a cousin of Carmel Gat, one of the hostages killed in Gaza, said: "Prime Minister, I want to remind you of the difference between tomorrow and the day after tomorrow."
She told the crowd that waiting for the hostages to be released from Gaza meant the difference between life and death for many of them, including her cousin.
American-Israeli Jon Goldberg Polin, whose son Hersh was also killed while being held in Gaza, called on U.S. President Donald Trump to help get a deal to return the remaining hostages returned at the rally.
The Gaza war began when Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, killing nearly 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and taking 251 others hostage into the enclave.
In response, Israel launched a military campaign that has killed more than 57,000 Palestinians, the majority of them civilians, according to local health authorities in Gaza.
Hamas has long demanded an agreement to end the war before it would free remaining hostages; Israel has insisted it would end the fighting only when all hostages are released and Hamas is dismantled as a fighting force and administration in Gaza.
