U.S. President Donald Trump repeated on Sunday his support for Israel's next actions in Gaza.
Trump said he told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to "do whatever you want" as hostage releases between Hamas and Israel were negotiated. Hamas released three hostages on Saturday before a key deadline. Trump added "But that will be up to Israel what the next step is in consultation with me."
Trump's comments come as Netanyahu repeated his support of Trump's plan to resettle Palestinians from Gaza. Trump's call for Palestinians to emigrate from Gaza, including to Egypt and Jordan, has been widely condemned with some critics saying that it amounted to "ethnic cleansing."
Trump has said that he wants the U.S. to take ownership of Gaza and rebuild it into the "Riviera of the Middle East."
