MANILA — The Anti-Political Dynasty bill was among the 24 priority bills were discussed in the August 6, 2026 Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) meeting in Malacañang.
Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian led the Senate delegation as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. convened the fourth (LEDAC) meeting.
The priority bills are the following:
- Anti-Political Dynasty Law;
- Party-List System Reform Act;
- People’s Freedom of Information/Right to Information Act;
- Amendments to the Bank Deposits Secrecy Law, or the BRIGHT Act;
- Philippine Budgeting Code;
- Promoting Growth, Revenue, and Equity Towards Socio-Economic Sustainability (PROGRESS) Bill;
- General Tax Amnesty, including Estate Tax Amnesty;
- Travel Tax Abolition;
- Amendments to the Coconut Farmers and Industry Trust Fund Act;
- Amendments to the Fisheries Code;
- Amendments to the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA), including the abolition of system loss charges and the strengthening of the Energy Regulatory Commission; the Sariling Kuryente Act;
- Waste-to-Energy Bill or Waste Treatment Technology Act;
- Masustansyang Pagkain para sa Batang Pilipino Act, or the Expanded National Nutrition Program Act;
- Classroom-Building Acceleration Program Act;
- Amendments to the Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education (GASTPE) Act;
- Amendments to the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act;
- Presidential Merit Scholarship Program;
- National Coordinating Council for Education (NCCE) Act;
- Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act, or the Child Online Safety and Protection Act;
- National Center for Geriatric Health Act;
- Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Act;
- Amendments to the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Act;
- National Reintegration Law or Bagong Balikbayan Act; and
- Amendments to the National Building Code.
Last July 24, Gatchalian told ABS-CBN News the Senate has as many as 35 priority bills pending.
"I think out of the 50, almost 35 ang hindi pa gumagalaw... Around 10 ang nasa advanced stages na. So, ang target natin at least, at least naman mga 30 of those bills ma-approve in the next 12 months," he said.
The House of Representatives, in contrast, has approved most of the bills.
