MANILA — The Manila Cathedral welcomed hundreds on Easter Sunday as Fr. Vicente Bautista led the 8 a.m. Mass to mark the end of Holy Week.
Easter Sunday commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which Christians believe symbolizes victory over sin and death.

In his homily, Fr. Bautista reminded attendees that Jesus’ resurrection means humans are also capable of renewal in times of struggle.
“Jesus is reminding us the gift of hope is true, and that is why you can rise and resurrect. May biyaya ng pag-asa kaya makakabangon at makakabuhay namang muli,” he said.
