The overflowing chemistry between JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith—famously known as JMFyang—gets even more kilig in the iWant original vertical drama series “Will You Fake Marry Me?” Fyang takes on the role of June, a spirited promodizer caught in a whirlwind fake marriage with Ping, portrayed by JM.
While their characters navigate an unexpected romance onscreen, JM and Fyang gamely took on the “I Do or I Don’t” challenge off-cam, sharing their candid thoughts on various relationship scenarios—whether they agree with them or are completely against them.
Both quickly dismissed the idea of posting passive-aggressive rants or sharing couple arguments online, calling it an immature act. When asked about using baby talk in public, the two admitted that it depends on the situation: it can be sweet at times, but there are moments when it’s better kept private.
When it comes to constant video calls or spending the whole day talking about anything—or nothing at all—JM and Fyang both answered, “I Do.” For Fyang, it’s especially convenient when distance keeps them apart.
The two, however, firmly said “I Don’t” to sharing social media passwords, stressing that it’s unnecessary when trust matters more than doubt.
As for giving regular updates throughout the day, JMFyang agreed with “I Do,” seeing it as a simple way to make a partner feel valued and reassured. When asked about being sweet in public but acting like best friends in private, both JM and Fyang also answered “I Don’t.”
On the topic of exaggerated terms of endearment, JM admitted he’s not a fan, while Fyang shared that she enjoys being called cute nicknames.
The conversation then shifted to jealousy, particularly when someone seems to be getting close to your significant other. Fyang admitted that feeling jealous is only natural. “’Pag alam mong may umaaligid, feeling namin may something,” she explained.
When asked about posting sweet photos together on social media, Fyang remained neutral, saying, “Hindi lahat nilalabas.” JM agreed, adding that he prefers posting them later so they can enjoy the moment first before sharing it online.
JM also echoed Fyang’s “I Don’t” when asked about a partner “getting even” after you forget small gestures, like opening the car door. The pair then tackled the idea of regularly checking in through text. Both revealed that they don’t send good morning and good night messages every day, preferring to let their conversations happen naturally.
To wrap up the challenge, JMFyang shared their thoughts on matching outfits and other couple items. JM said he finds it adorable, while Fyang noted that it’s a sweet gesture but doesn’t have to be done every day.
