Overwhelmed by the burden of the mounting medical expenses of her husband, Rudy (Joey Marquez), who remains unconscious and fighting for his life in the hospital after being accidentally shot during the recent demolition attempt in Ginintuang Lupa, Betchay (Irma Adlawan) explodes in anger when she upon arriving home with her sister-in-law, Mameng (Ces Quesada).
With emotions running high, she takes out her frustration at the Manila Telebalita news crew, who have come to their home to conduct a more sensational interview about Rudy's condition and offer whatever assistance they can. Betchay initially refuses to cooperate and even calls the crew incompetent upon learning that their first interview was not recorded. But her resistance quickly softens when they hand her a few thousand pesos and promise to help her obtain legal assistance should she decide to file charges.
What was meant to be a serious, tearjerking, and gut-wrenching shoot quickly spirals into chaos, as Betchay and Mameng seem to have a breakdown contest. As executive producer Arnel (Chet Pastrana) and reporter Salvador Manalo (Atty. Rey Campanilla) coach Betchay to amplify her grief on camera to elicit public sympathy, Mameng—busy preparing coffee for them in the kitchen—suddenly bursts into loud cries and breaks down.
Since Mameng’s spontaneous dramatic performance appears to be more compelling, Arnel instructs Salvador and cameraman Oli (Neil Coleta) to include her in the interview as well. What follows is a chaotic and unexpectedly comedic “acting showdown” between the two sisters-in-
law, each trying to outdo the other in raw emotion. The spectacle ultimately satisfies both Arnel and Oli—but not Salvador as Betchay is already harassing him.
