Shouting in a mix of apprehension and excitement, well-loved internet personality Christine Samson reacted with delight upon learning that the Lucky Wheel had stopped on her assigned briefcase number, selecting her as the celebrity player for the June 21 episode of “Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal.”
With celebration as the evening’s central theme, Christine reflected in her introduction video on being part of the noontime show “It’s Showtime” in 2020. Widely recognized as “Genie-Nga,” a moniker given to her by Vice Ganda, the content creator has become a fan favorite in the “PiLing Lucky” segment, where she is known as “ang babaeng laging pasok sa banga at may mahiwagang hininga.” Christine described her time on the show as one of the defining chapters of her career.

The content creator also expressed her desire to return to school to pursue her passion for the culinary arts, with hopes of becoming a professional chef and eventually building her own restaurant.
When she received an email informing her that she had been selected as one of the game show’s celebrity Lucky Stars, Christine initially dismissed it as a scam. Grateful that she ultimately took the opportunity, she told host Luis Manzano that meeting him in person was something she had long manifested. She also shared her excitement at finally meeting the Pambansang Host and the opportunity to work alongside him on the show.
Christine chose to keep and fight for her original briefcase, number 9, with plans to donate her potential winnings to Yakap Foundation. Deeply moved by the organization’s mission of helping individuals rebuild their lives after difficult circumstances, the celebrity player was determined to do her best in pursuit of the elusive ₱1 million jackpot.
Entering the game with a strategy in mind, Christine avoided selecting numbers that corresponded to the birth dates of her family members. She opened the game on a strong note, eliminating the ₱10, ₱25, ₱50, and ₱500 amounts early. Her impressive start earned praise from the host, who remarked that it was one of the strongest opening rounds in the history of “Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal.”
After turning down the Banker’s tempting ₱222,000 offer, Christine opened the next round by eliminating the ₱1 briefcase. Just as it seemed that luck was firmly on her side, the game took a dramatic turn when she uncovered the ₱1 million jackpot in her very next pick. Despite the setback, she remained optimistic and managed to find the ₱5 briefcase later in the round.
As the game progressed, Christine watched several of the board’s higher cash prizes disappear one by one, diminishing her chances of securing a big win. In successive rounds, she eliminated the ₱100,000, ₱250,000, ₱500,000, ₱125,000, and ₱150,000 amounts, leaving her increasingly disheartened as the remaining options narrowed.
With only ₱200 and ₱300 remaining on the board, Christine ultimately chose to make a deal and accepted the Banker’s final offer of ₱250. After pressing the big red button, she learned that she had still come out ahead by a slim margin, as her chosen briefcase was later revealed to contain ₱200.
“Enjoy lang pala kasi dapat talaga,” Christine remarked after wrapping up her rollercoaster of a game.
