Director Azuelo (Rommel Padilla) strictly reminds his Special Investigations Division personnel to prepare for the arrival of their newest member, who is revealed to be Jalil (Gerald Anderson) but disguised as police officer Allan Espina.
Before Jalil, as Espina, enters the SID office, he deliberately bumps into Marcus (Richard Gutierrez), his current enemy. In a flashback, Jalil is shown to have met Ahmad Mustapha (Robin Padilla), the veteran Muslim leader and presidential chief of staff who ordered his troops to discreetly rescue Jalil from his abductors.
To shortly introduce himself, Ahmad first firmly explains that he is determined to know about the truth regarding the massacre at Isla Damai. Jalil then details an unforeseen ambush at the island by an unidentified group, followed by the relentless attacks from Task Force Alpha, both of which resulted in the burning down of the community houses as well as piles of corpses.
Seethingly, Jalil also mentions how his father, Datu Rahman (Jaime Fabregas), was ultimately arrested and taken to NLEA. Remembering the traumatized faces of the children who lost their parents in the massacre, Jalil promises to bring them justice, further stressing that his people are all innocent, most especially Datu Rahman.
He then provides more details about his plans to find evidence about the mastermind of all the present commotion associated with Datu Rahman, specifically speculated to be someone in NLEA.
After listening to Jalil’s story, Ahmad makes it clear that he genuinely believes in him and intends to help him. He gives Jalil the opportunity to take on the high-profile identity of a skilled liaison officer in order for both of them to gain access to all the crucial information stored inside and outside NLEA regarding Datu Rahman’s abduction.
When Jalil questions why he is chosen, Ahmad highlights the fact that he has nothing to lose but everything to gain. Before sealing the deal, Ahmad reminds Jalil that he’s on his own during the confidential mission, and in the event that his identity is unfortunately unearthed, he will have no allies to count on to defend him.
