In her pursuit of further growth as an artist and continued thriving in the industry, award-winning actress Janine Gutierrez has made another bold career move on her 15th year in showbiz and on her fifth year as a certified Kapamilya as she signs with Star Magic, the premier talent management of ABS-CBN, officially announced through its social media platforms on Monday, April 13.
The award-winning actress confirmed the good news via an Instagram post, in which she wrote, “The past few years as a Kapamilya have been so meaningful, and it just keeps getting better. So happy and grateful to have found a home with the Star Magic family. Thank you thank you so much for the warm welcome, I'm so grateful to everyone in Star Magic and of course @direklauren for having me.”
She added, “To everyone who’s been with me through every challenge, achievement, transition, every role, project, every win and loss -- thank you!! Thank you for believing in me. Even more inspired to make you proud. Let's do this!!!”
As we look forward to seeing more of Janine on television and on the big screen, let’s revisit her teleserye journey so far that proves she’s indeed one of the most talented, versatile, and bankable actresses of ABS-CBN.
It can be recalled that it was in 2021 when she shocked her fans and avid showbiz onlookers with her totally surprising transfer to ABS-CBN.
She immediately got busy that year since aside from her appearances on “ASAP,” through which she got to showcase her singing and hosting skills, she also had her first acting gig via the “Quarantine Pass” episode of “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” wherein she was paired with JM de Guzman.
Later that year, the 36-year-old actress starred in her first-ever ABS-CBN teleserye titled, “Marry Me, Marry You,” taking on the lead role of Camille Miraflor-Legaspi. Alongside her leading man Paulo Avelino, who plays Andrei, the husband of her character, they captured the journey of couples who have to grapple with the traditional expectations of marriage shaped not only by their relationship, but also by the influences of their family and friends.
As she renewed her contract with the network in 2023, she didn’t only get to further hone her craft as an artist but also showcase her versatility and intensity as an actress via the mystery drama series “Dirty Linen.” She really did a great job in her portrayal of Alexa Salvacion (also known as Mila Dela Cruz), the fierce and fearless lead protagonist determined to exact vengeance against the powerful and prominent Fiero family along with the other members of “Team Resbak” following the mysterious disappearances of their loved ones many years ago.
In 2024, she was able to prove that she could also slay as a kontrabida through her remarkable stint in the revenge drama series “Lavender Fields” as the ferocious Iris Buenavidez-De Vera, who was dead set on killing the titular character impeccably played by Jodi Sta. Maria. It was through this project that she got to work for the first time with her current boyfriend Jericho Rosales, who portrayed her character’s husband Tyrone.
And fresh from signing her first-ever contract with Star Magic, it was announced by Star Creatives through social media that she’s poised to headline the upcoming ABS-CBN series “The Loyalty Game” alongside Jericho and Sofia Andres, which is set to be broadcast first on Prime Video Philippines.
Congratulations on this new momentous milestone in your career, Janine!
