Before we get to see their final transformations, the multi-faceted and close-knit celebrity performers of “Your Face Sounds Familiar” come together to reminisce about their most unforgettable acts from the past 12 rounds in the first episode of the four-part “The Road to the Grand Showdown” special.
Among the first to look back on their standout performances is Alexa Ilacad, who has already secured not just one, not two, but three wins in the competition. And one of her most talked-about transformations was her portrayal of fellow YFSF cast member and seasoned comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto as her iconic character, “Booba.” The performance quickly went viral on social media for being incredibly spot-on and completely entertaining.
This act earned standing ovations from the jury, along with the approval of the “Comedy Bombshell” herself most importantly. Alexa even revealed that Rufa Mae helped choreograph some parts of her number, as well as it was actually Rufa Mae whom she was supposed to impersonate during her audition, but she wasn’t able to carry it out since she just kept on laughing.
With how totally impressive and amusing her performance was, The “Gen Z Total Performer” garnered the highest combined score of 36 points—21 of which came from the jury, who each gave him seven points, while the rest of the 15 points were from her co-artists Dia Mate, Jarlo Base, Rufa Mae, and JMielle (JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano).
