Nobody is getting an easy pass on the way to the Big Night! After the wildcard, Marco Masa has once again proven his worth and strength as he earns his Big Ticket to the Big Jump through a mental and physical task on "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0."
Lella Ford and Caprice Cayetano were the first to earn their Big Tickets through the votes of their fellow housemates. To determine their opponents, the remaining housemates were split into two camps—Kapamilya and Kapuso—for back-to-back elimination rounds. The winners from each side would then go head-to-head with Lella and Caprice in the Big Jump Challenge, which will decide the first Kapamilya and first Kapuso members of The Ultimate 8.
The groups had the chance to choose their elimination challenge, but the catch was that they could only decide based on picture clues. The Kapamilya cluster went first and took on an exciting 'brainplay' called the Ultimate Memory Game, where Joaquin Arce won.
In the February 5 episode, it was the Kapuso housemates’ (Ashley Sarmiento, Princess Aliyah, Heath Jornales, and Marco Masa) turn to take on their task called the Spool Challenge and Insanity Puzzle.
This test was divided into three parts. First was solving a code-breaking puzzle to get the correct numbers that would unlock them from their platform. Once they succeeded, they had to go around a large spool multiple times to unwind a rope tied around their waist to be able to pull four heavy, multi-colored blocks to a designated building area, where they would need to stack the blocks in a way that no vertical side had repeating colors.
The battle began with the entrance of ‘ninjas’ who locked each housemate onto a platform with a rope connected to their waist. For the code-breaking puzzle, Big Brother showed the housemates a visual of a small house, with confusing triangle shapes on the roof. They needed to count all the triangles, subtract three, and then multiply the result by six.
Ashley’s first reaction was, “I suck at Math. Marco is good at Math.” And just as she predicted, after more than 30 minutes, Marco was the first to unlock himself while the others were still racking their brains over the puzzle.
As Marco began circling the spool, Ashley managed to crack the code next, leading to a very close fight between them. Princess unlocked herself much later but did her best to catch up with the two, who were then starting to feel exhausted as they struggled to stack the colored blocks correctly. Heath, meanwhile, did not progress past the first stage.
After three hours, Marco raised his hands and asked Big Brother to check his blocks. A ‘ninja’ came in and signaled that Marco’s block arrangement was correct, meaning he officially secured the Big Ticket.
"After ng maraming prayers, Kuya, no'ng inikot ko nang isa, doon ko po nakuha 'yung sa bawat vertical side ay walang mauulit na kulay," he shared with Big Brother after the challenge. "Sobrang happy at sobrang fulfilled po ako dahil alam ko po sa sarili ko na pinaghirapan ko po makuha 'yung ticket na 'yun... Parang nawala po lahat ng pagod. Masaya po ako na sa hard work na binuhos ko ay nagbunga po siya nang ganu'n."
