Nine years after winning the first season of Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids, Awra Briguela returned to what she regarded as her “favorite playground”—the stage of “Your Face Sounds Familiar”—as a guest celebrity performer in the February 15 episode.
Transforming into seasoned global superstar Jennifer Lopez, she stunned everyone with her show-stopping performance of “On The Floor” that everyone truly enjoyed. When asked by host Vhong Navarro for her advice on the current season’s celebrity performers, she encouraged them to simply enjoy their every performance, joking that she used to lose everytime she took her performances too seriously.
Reflecting on this performance, she quipped that if she were a contestant this season, she might even land at the bottom of the rankings because of how much effort and dedication she poured into the number.
As for her most memorable impersonations, the “Breakout Child Star” said that it would be the icons that required her to put on full-face prosthetics, such as comedy legend Dolphy, singer-comedienne Elizabeth Ramsey, novelty singer Yoyoy Villame, and celebrity mom Dionesia Pacquiao. While she enjoyed portraying these icons, she confessed to actually resenting it because removing the prosthetics was quite challenging.
As if preforming as JLo wasn’t challenging enough, host Jhong Hilario dared her to do splits “on the floor” while delivering her iconic line from the 2016 comedy film, “The Super Parental Guardians,” which she gamely accepted. Aside from her, the hosts also called on an audience member to take on the same challenge, drawing cheers and laughter from the audience.
Juror Gary Valenciano fondly recounted how Awra used to send him “I love you” messages back then, as well as expressed how thrilled he was to see her invigorating performance anew. Thus, he’s certain that more opportunities would continue to come or open for her. Ogie Alcasid echoed this sentiment, saying that her go-getter attitude would definitely take her far in life.
“Megastar” Sharon Cuneta, meanwhile, was all praises to Awra for her comedic and impersonation skills at a very young age. She went on to thank her for giving her all in her performance and to wish her success, happiness, and even a little more height so she could someday join beauty pageants like celebrity performer and Reina HispanoAmericana 2025 Dia Mate did.
