On the thrilling road leading to a mind-bending conclusion, “What Lies Beneath” will precisely expose more bloodcurdling and gut-wrenching truths in the next few days, steadily creeping on eager viewers for the biggest mystery of Louisa’s (Mutya Orquia) tragic demise to be solved.
To ignite the infectious enthusiasm that has been embracing the chilling primetime series, Charlie Dizon—portraying the outspoken school teacher and devoted mother Beth Sevilla-Mora—is joined by her closest MABEL girls on the February 5 episode of Kapamilya Chat.
Starting off with their appreciation towards the teleserye’s avid fans, Charlie passionately agrees with her castmates about their feelings of fulfillment while filming, realizing that audiences pay close attention to each and every detail, reflected in their clever fan theories about Louisa’s killer.
When it comes to the most challenging scene she had filmed, Charlie elaborates on her character’s tempestuous confrontation in the forest with Liezel (played by Mary Joy Apostol) and Angelo (played by Marlo Mortel), wherein the rest of the main cast, Kaila Estrada, Sue Ramirez, and Janella Salvador, are present.
As Charlie remembers, the forest confrontation took more than a day to finish, with the production team and artists struggling to come across good weather. “One day kailangan talaga… Putik-putik na lang kami,” she adds, detailing how they soldiered through the rains so they could finish filming.
Aside from this, Charlie hints at another tough scene spanning four to five script pages, which will probably be revealed in the upcoming finale of the series. “Medyo sa dulo na so hindi ko masabi… Sana abangan n’yo ‘yun, parang ilang araw ko siya inaabangan na i-shoot,” she shares.
On the topic of her character’s controversial personality, Charlie gets playful yet real about Beth’s prideful nature, even joking that she also gets irritated by it a lot of times.
Janella chimes in that while Charlie and Beth do share the trait of being talkative, Charlie actually has a brighter attitude. Meanwhile, Kaila believes that Beth’s account toward the finale is certainly compelling and expects viewers to watch it very closely.
“Hindi ako inggitera,” Charlie jests.
More about Edong Santiago (Jake Cuenca) was also addressed by the MABEL girls, with Charlie openly discussing her frustration with Beth, as she was one of the people who unjustly imprisoned Edong, turning him into a traumatized victim who is now pursuing revenge as his only way of moving on.
“Sa mga takot magsalita, malaki ang effect after ilang years. Kung alam ‘yung totoo, magsalita agad,” she reminds.
Charlie also expresses admiration for the up-and-coming teen actress Allyson McBride, who portrays the younger Beth, highlighting the fact that they set the acting standard in the series.
For the biggest question in the series, which questions Louisa’s real killer, Charlie was among the main cast who confidently hinted clearer hints. She teases that the anonymous character has already appeared in the earlier episodes and is not entirely a new face.
While she also points out that Louisa surely knows the killer, Charlie humorously states that she doesn’t want to know since her character might feel embarrassed. “Ayoko malaman kasi mapapahiya ako [as Beth],” she jokes.
Concluding their guesting, Charlie leaves a heartwarming message for her character, wishing for her to appreciate what she has in her life. “Very blessed siya with friends and family… [Sana] mapatawad niya [rin] ‘yung sarili niya,” she remarks.
