Now that another year has begun, it feels like a major reset for us---something lights up within as we expect greater things and look forward to our favorite holidays of the year. Whether it’s Valentine’s, summer, or Christmas, every holiday feels like a luxury, as it gives us time to spend with our loved ones away from work.
And our favorite Kapamilya celebs could easily relate to this as they responded to the question, “What’s your favorite season of the year?” with heartfelt reflections to share.
New Year means new beginnings for our favorite “Pinoy Big Brother” alums. Fyang Smith noted that the New Year is her favorite season, to which Xyriel Manabat responded similarly, adding, “Para new beginning, ang daming bago, ang dami mong nilu-look forward, sobrang hopeful ka sa start ng taon.” Meanwhile, KD Estrada shared that his favorite season is Holy Week, as it is the only time he gets a break from his schoolwork.
What comes after Holy Week? Summertime! Several artists, including JM Ibarra, Enchong Dee, Matt Evans, Rita Avila, Jerald Napoles, Jana Agoncillo, and Vince Maristela, revealed that summer is their favorite time of the year, as it’s the season to beat the heat and enjoy beach trips with family and friends.
Finally, as expected, a lot of our Kapamilyas chose the most festive season of the year as their favorite---Christmas! “PBB Collab” alums Will Ashley, Klarisse De Guzman, Bianca De Vera, Esnyr, Kira Ballinger, Brent Manalo, Ralph De Leon, and River Joseph all shared the same answer, saying it’s the season when they get to be with their families, give gifts, and share a delicious feast together.
Our favorite “ASAP” stars also shared the same answer, including Rain Celmar, Reign Parani, Gela Atayde, Vivoree Esclito, Joao Constancia, Seth Fedelin, and Francine Diaz, who added, “Iba ang feels kapag Pasko, lahat nagsasama-sama, kailangan kumpleto, napakaspesyal niyang araw sa buong taon.”
Likewise, Asia’s Songbird and the Divine Diva both gave the same response. Zsa Zsa Padilla named Christmas, along with Valentine’s Day, as her favorite season, while Regine Velasquez-Alcasid expounded on the joys that Christmas brings, noting how we Filipinos truly take it to heart whenever we celebrate it with our families, no matter our lifestyle.
Newlyweds Ronnie Alonte and Loisa Andalio also named Christmas as their most-loved holiday. Sylvia Sanchez shared the same answer, while “PBB” host Bianca Gonzalez added that the Ber Months are her favorite, as she gets to celebrate different occasions with her family---such as birthdays, her favorite Halloween, and of course, Christmas.
Kapamilya actors also gave the same answer. JC De Vera, RK Bagatsing, Richard Gutierrez, Jeremiah Lisbo, Robbie Jaworski, and Carlo Aquino highlighted how the Christmas season brings families together, giving us a deeper sense of generosity, love, and togetherness. “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” stars Baron Geisler, Aljur Abrenica, and McCoy De Leon also shared the same sentiment. For McCoy, Christmas is the symbol of family, joy, and love for God.
“Your Face Sounds Familiar” performers Rufa Mae Quinto and Dia Mate shared the same sentiment, highlighting how Christmas is definitely festive as everything lights up---from the Christmas lights and carolings to the joy of being with family.
And lastly, for our beloved P-Pop groups BINI and BGYO, there’s no season quite like Christmas, which brings out all the fun and love of the holidays.
Different seasons bring out different sides of us---whether it’s having fun away from work, spending time with family, or simply resting and focusing on ourselves. Finding joy and balance off work is just as important as the seasons we celebrate.
