Avid showbiz onlookers may know her as a versatile actress, a talented singer, and a woman with undeniable passion, confidence, and sense of humor, yet not a lot of people perhaps know that Sue Ramirez is actually a loud and proud Negrosanon, or someone who hails from the Negros Island region.
And we’re able to see that facet of her that she doesn’t get to display often through her appearance in the latest episode of the ABS-CBN Entertainment online Visayan talk show “Kuan On One” released on Tuesday, August 26. And among the topics that they got to tackle during their lighthearted and insightful conversation was her blossoming romance with Dominic Roque, whom she has been dating for several months now.
Sue initially hinted about her blooming romantic life when they took on the “I-doodle ang Nasa Puso Mo Challenge” in the “Dakong Problema” segment of the program, wherein they were tasked to pick topics written on different pieces of paper inside a fishbowl, and then they had to doodle their respective interpretations of those particular words.
As she chose the paper with “love life” written on it, she drew a heart with flowers inside, explaining that it actually signifies that her love life is “very blooming” and saying in jest that she hopes that the same can be said about her beauty.
Sue got to talk about their relationship further after the game, imparting that her heart is super happy and blooming at present. It’s always fluttering in love, according to her, especially since their romance is still new. They are still in the process of getting to really know and discover a lot of things about each other, yet they’re slowly adjusting to one another.
"I think ito ang tinatawag nilang ‘honeymoon stage.’ Kaya parang napakasaya pa at gusto naming kumain nang magkasama palagi,” she related to Kuantie Melai, who advised her to just enjoy this phase. “Nag-e-enjoy lang talaga kami ngayon, ‘yon ang priority namin. Not to put pressure on each other but to enjoy each other’s company and cherish the moments that we have together.”
When quizzed by the host on what she learned from her past relationships that shouldn’t be repeated in her current one, Sue replied that she cannot apply everything that she has realized from her past flames since the person she’s with and the love they’d share together are different.
“Magkakaiba naman ang mga tao. It can be na parang may natutunan ako sa past relationships ko na hindi ko na magagamit ngayon dahil ibang tao na ito. So, I think every relationship is different. Of course, we learn something from your past, but you cannot really apply everything sa lahat ng relationship mo,” Sue said.
She continued, “I think, every relationship is really a different experience. And I’m the type of person na I live in the moment talaga. Ang past ko, I've accepted it totally, na hindi ko na kailangang balikan o kuhanan pa ng aral. Ngayon parang alam ko naman na ang gagawin, parang masaya ako, parang alam ko nang gagawin. Kung balik ka rin nang balik sa nakaraan, hindi ka rin makakausad.”
Aside from being absolutely good-looking, what she likes about Dominic, whom she fondly calls “Papa Dom,” is his being kind and loving not just for her but for both their families. While these are some of the things that she should be thankful for, Sue is apparently more grateful that her relationship with him gave her the courage to turn her back on the things that no longer serve her.
“Nagpasalamat ako kay Lord not naman [dahil] dumating si Papa Doms but because I had the courage to turn my back on something that didn’t serve me anymore or something that I didn’t deserve. I am not trying to imply anything na may masamang nangyari because, honestly, we had a good break up, me and Javi [Benitez],” she revealed.
Then she added, “But you know, may mga bagay na kailangan tayo na hindi nabibigay ng partner natin na hindi ‘yon ang love language nila. Baka hindi lang talaga swak and we cannot take that against the person; we cannot take that against our partner. Kung hindi niya maibigay sa atin ang pangangailangan natin, maybe because you’re not really for each other.”
Apparently, Sue already sees a future with Dominic as she mentioned wanting to travel and see the world with him, when asked by Kuantie Melai regarding her bucket list.
It can be recalled that it was in November 2024 when rumors about their brewing romance started to spread like wildfire on social media after a video of them kissing in Siargao, posted by an eagle-eyed netizen who caught them went viral.
And months after admitting that they’re indeed dating via separate interviews, they shared some of their lovely moments together online, including their joint birthday celebration last July 20 that further confirmed the real score between them.
Watch out for the all-new guests of “Kuan On One”, which may be popular Bisdak artists, influencers, content creators, and beauty queens, when a new episode drops every Tuesday on ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube and iWant.
