If there’s one dish that could proudly wave the Philippine flag on any dining table, it’s adobo. This Pinoy specialty is loved in countless variations—from the traditional soy sauce and vinegar combo to the creamy 'gata' version and more culinary twists passed down through generations. It’s comfort food, energy food, and fiesta food all in one.

So when some of our favorite celebrities were asked by ABS-CBN Studios, “If you were a dish, what would you be?” it’s no surprise that many of them answered “adobo.” After all, who wouldn’t want to be as timeless, versatile, and well-loved as the humble yet hearty classic considered by many as the unofficial national Filipino dish?

“Paborito ng lahat,” that’s how Joshua Garcia sums up why he’d be adobo. Just like the “ulam” that never fails to satisfy any appetite, the "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" leading man has that all-around charm that appeals to everyone.

They say adobo only grows on you the longer you keep it—habang tumatagal, lalong sumasarap. Well, it’s a perfect metaphor for these stars. As former "PBB Collab" housemate Bianca De Vera puts it, adobo "gets better over time," which we think could just as easily relate to her career, right?

While adobo tastes great fresh from the pot, somehow it turns even more delicious the next day when all the spices and flavors have fully soaked in. That’s exactly how Alexa Ilacad and Klarisse de Guzman see themselves, the kind you just can’t get enough of, the more you see them on screen. Shuvee Etrata also chose adobo because it's her ultimate comfort food, "Kahit ilang kanin kaya kong kainin sa adobo."

“Timeless" is how "ASAP" artist Yeng Constantino defines adobo, and herself, of course, just like how her songs never seem to fade, like the almost two-decade-old "Hawak Kamay" which we still hear to this day whether at special occasions or on random karaoke nights.

"The Four Bad Boys and Me" cast member Dustine Mayores describes adobo as "tumatagal," while TNT Champ Marielle Montellano compares herself to adobong sitaw, her favorite dish to eat and cook.

Just like adobo, these celebrities have got that magic that’s always just right.
