After stepping back from the spotlight for over a year to focus on his new chapter as a husband to fellow Kapamilya star Ria Atayde, many have been wondering when they’d get to see Zanjoe Marudo act again.
Well, the wait is over—he's back with a brand-new film titled "How To Get Away From My Toxic Family." But since he's still got quite a bit of catching up to do with his fans, this Kapamilya Chat episode made for the perfect reunion. Zanjoe took on the "Toxic Tonics" Challenge, where he faced a series of questions and if he chose not to answer, all he had to do was pick a mystery drink from the selection.
Zanjoe didn’t back down from the first inquiry, which asked him to choose between his showbiz career and family as his current priority, and he answered that family matters most to him at this point in his life. Zanjoe feels he’s already accomplished most of his goals in life and in his craft. “Kaya din naman ako nagtrabaho para dito,” he said, adding that even with family as his top priority, he’s grateful to still be present in the acting scene.
In keeping with his movie's theme, Zanjoe was also asked to reveal a toxic trait he’s willing to leave behind, prompting him to admit his tendency to procrastinate. But he's definitely working on changing that, especially now with his new responsibilities as a husband and a father.
When asked to name one of his acting projects he’d rank the “least,” Zanjoe replied that he couldn’t single out any, not even the ones from early in his career when he still lacked confidence, acknowledging that every experience helped shape him into the actor he is today. Still, for the sake of the game, people in the studio chanted “Shot! Shot!”—and Zanjoe obliged, later reacting that he ended up picking a surprisingly tasty drink.
One dare had him waving the white flag, though, when asked to name a dish his wife Ria cooks that he wouldn’t mind never tasting again. He laughed and joked, “Nagsisimula pa lang kaming bumuo ng pamilya,” as if trying to avoid what could easily spark an argument back at home. So instead of answering, he wrapped up the game with another mystery drink.
