The scenes in the newest ABS-CBN Studios series “Sins of the Father” are indeed getting more exciting and more intense!
And two weeks into its promising run, another five of its stellar ensemble cast appeared on the July 5 episode of “Rainbow Rumble”—namely, Alex Medina, Elyson de Dios, Jeremiah Lisbo, Seth Fedelin, and Francine Diaz—to show off their witty, smart, and playful facets. Their guesting happened after their co-stars Gerald Anderson, JC de Vera, RK Bagatsing, Jessie Mendiola, and Jerald Napoles guested in the second episode of the show, in which JC almost won the jackpot.
In the end, it was the only rose among the thorns, Francine, who was the one to reach the top tile of the pyramid and proceed to the jackpot round. Unfortunately, she was only able to get four out of six unique colors in the last round, so she only got to take home a total of P87,000. Meanwhile, Seth garnered P20,000, Elyson and Alex both won P8,000, while Jeremiah was only able to move onto one of the P2,000-worth tile.
We may always see him portray serious characters onscreen, but Alex was able to unleash his comedic side not only during but also after the program, as we asked him how he felt about failing to reach the coveted jackpot—despite being the first one to step into the pyramid board. Alex said that he felt ‘betrayed,’ apparently alluding to that instance when Seth used his “atras power” against him to foil his chance of keeping up with (and possibly getting ahead of!) Francine, yet he knew to himself that it was part of life and of the game.
Elyson seemed to have felt the same as Alex after Francine used her own “atras power” against him when he was already behind her. He simply assumed that Francine saw him as a threat not just to her but to Seth as well, after they got into a “tile breaker” challenge, so she opted to put him a further step back.
Seth, on the other hand, was still in high spirits despite his loss since it was his beloved love team partner who won the race. He stated, “Ang importante is nag-enjoy. Ang importante is nakapagpasaya rin tayo ng mga manononood and naipakita ko ‘yong ako. ‘Yon ang importante doon. Nakita ng mga tao kahit papaano ang small feats—kung papaano kami, ano ‘yong kakayanan naming sumagot, ano rin kami, so ‘yon ang nakakatuwa na maiyayabang namin kung ano kami, paano kami maging makulit.”
With regard to which part of the game they found the most challenging, Alex said that it would be swiping, as he presumed that his right arm perhaps still lacked exercise since he tended to be slower than his Gen Z co-stars. Elyson mentioned the choosing of colors through rolling the die inside the DRM (die rolling machine), while Seth imparted that he felt his brain froze in the early part of the game, which made it initially difficult for him to answer.
“Rainbow Rumble” may be a game show, yet the players were able to obtain takeaways from this nerve-wracking yet enjoyable experience. For Alex, it made him realize the value of being consistent mentally and physically, as well as that we are the ones who make our own luck. Elyson seemed to give tips for future contestants by saying that one should be composed and confident that they know the answers.
Seth, on the other hand, implied how important it is for everyone to earn stock knowledge because we’ll never know when we are going to need it. In relation to this, episode winner Francine was reminded by her experience in answering the six questions how utterly necessary it is for her to update herself about random things under the sun and to educate herself more on various subjects. She also related how confused and nervous she was during the jackpot round when she was rolling the six dice inside the DRMs.
And lastly, when it comes to her most favorite part of the episode, Francine said that it would be their picture-taking session.
Which sets of stars are we going to see in the next episodes of “Rainbow Rumble”? Let’s all find out by watching it every weekend 6:15pm on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live (KOL), A2Z, and ALL TV!
