After arriving in Maravida to follow Patrick (Joshua Garcia), Mia (Anne Curtis) makes a bold decision, going back to her family's long-abandoned ancestral mansion.
As Vincent (Enchong Dee) explains to Madeth (Xyriel Manabat), the estate was once considered one of the most beautiful ancestral homes in the southern part of the Philippines. But over time, it earned a dark reputation due to the terrible things that happened there and is now labeled as a haunted house.
The scene cuts to Mia stepping inside the mansion. The hallway is dim, the atmosphere heavy. White cloths drape over antique furniture, and layers of dust and cobwebs cling to every corner. Walking into a place like that, especially one so massive and left to rot in silence, feels unsettling to the bone.
Still, Mia presses on. She slowly makes her way through the creepy halls, taking in every detail with a careful gaze, until she enters a bedroom. She throws herself onto the bed, and then coughs due to the thick dust that rises into the air.
As she sleeps, a narration plays in the background, telling the tale of a princess who once lived in a palace deep in the forest. Cursed by a witch to die from the prick of a needle, her father, the king, had every sewing tool across the kingdom destroyed in hopes of preventing the curse. But in disguise, the witch presented a rose, and the princess was pricked by the thorn. Instead of dying, she fell into a deep sleep.
Inside the mansion, the wind howls through the hall, a door creaks open, and something unseen slips into the room. Mia stirs, her breath catching as she opens her eyes to find a black lady floating just inches from her face. The figure reaches out and touches her cheek, whispering with chilling calm that she will kill the prince destined to save the sleeping princess.
