As "Incognito" blazes through its explosive finale week, the Kontraks, the private army led by the characters of Ian Veneracion, Richard Gutierrez, Daniel Padilla, Baron Geisler, Kaila Estrada, Maris Racal, and Anthony Jennings, are deployed to their most dangerous mission yet, in Marawi City, where they go head-to-head with Manuel Aguinaldo (Joem Bascon)'s full force of a ruthless crime syndicate that thrives in bloodshed and doesn’t flinch at letting the innocent fall in the crossfire.
The enemies they're currently facing (as seen on primetime) are armed and wired for blood. In this war, there’s no room for hesitation. Every ounce of the Kontraks’ training, instinct, and battle-hardened discipline is pushed to the limit, and what's at stake demands the kind of courage that refuses to break even when the rules of combat turn into something darker.
That was the tone set for Andres (Daniel Padilla) and Kenji (Lance Pimentel)'s intense hand-to-hand throwdown that is probably one of the most gripping fights we’ve seen on primetime television. Set inside a bullet-scarred structure thick with smoke and dust, the two served up visceral brutality that would linger in viewers' bones.
They didn’t need body doubles to pull it off, as shown in the series of behind-the-scenes clips Lance shared on Instagram. What they did need was endurance and pain tolerance, as in one sequence, Daniel shoved Lance straight into a barricade of thick wooden planks, so the latter broke through it with nothing but his own body. No stunt pads, no safety wall. You could feel the force of that moment just by watching it, but Lance bounced back quick and laughed with Daniel, as they did after every take, like the pain was just part of the routine.
Aside from playing an important role on-cam, Lance also called the shots as the stunt choreographer, which means some of those hits were actually mapped out by him, frame by frame.
In a few BTS clips, you’d catch him guiding Daniel through the sequence, showing him exactly how to slip past a strike and how to react without pulling the energy back. With Lance managing both the choreography and execution, the fight played out with sharp timing and just the right amount of tension to keep it clean but dangerous.
The behind-the-scenes photos reveal a collaborative vibe as well, with Lance making sure Daniel was part of the process too. He’d ask if the movement feels right, as if they're building the sequence together beat by beat. The two wanted to get this tour de force of a scene right, and they did.
That fight turned out to be Kenji’s last. In the story, Andres ends up killing him, sending him crashing off the edge of a war-torn ruin.
