One of the best things that could ever happen in a person’s life is to be able to find genuine friends with whom we can shamelessly share every aspect of our lives without the fear of getting judged because we’re confident that they’re going to love, support, and accept us no matter what.

And this is actually just one of the benefits that we can get from being part of female friendships or having female friends in our lives. So, as we celebrate the National Women’s Month, here are some famous Kapamilya celebrity female friendships who are able to prove that it’s really possible to forge genuine bonds in the ever-evolving world of showbiz.

Let’s find out how their beautiful bonds began, as well as how they’re able to make their friendships last and thrive through their unwavering love for each other and the unforgettable experiences they’d shared together, which they imparted during their respective appearances on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” and we collated in this edition of TWBA Toplist!

AngBeKi (Angelica Panganiban, Bela Padilla, and Kim Chiu)

Angelica Panganiban is certainly one of the living proofs that it is indeed possible to forge genuine and long-lasting friendships in showbiz since she has a lot of friends. Aside from her best friend Glaiza de Castro, whom she’s been friends with for around two decades already, as well as her barkadahan with Agot Isidro, Cherry Pie Picache, and Director Andoy Ranay, she has also created a wonderful bond with her fellow actresses Bela Padilla and Kim Chiu.

When asked how she would describe the dynamics of her friendship with Kim and Bela, which they wittily named “AngBeKi,” Angelica enthused, “Iba silang dalawa sa lahat!” They may come off as shallow sometimes as they tend to laugh even on the most absurd stuff and silliest jokes, but she told the King of Talk that they can actually be deep when it comes to their conversations and to their love for one another.

As their group has already earned a huge following, she told the host that she actually told the two in jest that it would definitely be a shame if the three were going to quarrel.

Later that year in November, it was Kim’s turn to talk about their squad, which she described as “kakaiba.” Even though they do not see nor speak with each other often, yet they can just pick up where the left off, as if they’d only seen one another recently. With how tightly bonded they’ve been, the “It’s Showtime” host did not have to think long to respond to the host’s question on who between her two besties she’s likely to bring with her to hell and to heaven.

Since she’s very palaban, Kim thought that Angelica was suitable in hell; while her sweet personality and love for nature make Bela perfect in heaven.

Yeng Constantino and Angeline Quinto

Despite having different personalities—Yeng is an introvert, while Angeline is an extrovert—it was still indeed possible for them to become friends. While both of them are oblivious with how their friendship began, the PopRock Royalty said that they’re among those people who simply clicked with each other, which was something she actually didn’t expect. With regard to their first impression of one another, Yeng revealed that she perceived the Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs as “sobra siyang friendly,” which is something that she truly admires about her since nobody feels awkward in her presence.

Miles Ocampo and Sharlene San Pedro

“Goin’ Bulilit” might be long over now but the connection of two of its pioneers, Miles and Sharlene, still continues up to present and is just getting stronger as years go by. However, their friendship only started when they worked together in the youth-oriented Kapamilya sitcom, “LUV U,” which they both headlined from 2012 to 2016.

Aside from apparently possessing similar personalities, the besties also share the same penchant for travel, especially abroad, which Miles imparted during her TWBA guesting in 2017. And in order to make their dream of travelling together come true, Sharlene chose to celebrate her 18th birthday by going to Australia with Miles and their moms in 2017, as she got inspired by what Miles did when she turned 18 two years ahead of her.

But it isn’t only travelling that they enjoy doing together as they also love to hang out with one another. However, there was one instance when what was supposed to be their cozy coffee session eventually turned into the most embarrassing moment of their lives as they got called out by one of the café staff for leaving the coffee shop without paying.

Kathryn Bernardo, Julia Montes, and Dimples Romana

Even though she played the role of their biological and foster mother, Alvira Del Valle, in the 2010 remake of the classic Pinoy soap opera “Mara Clara,” it didn’t hinder Dimples from becoming close friends with her younger co-stars Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes.

They might have become busy with their respective endeavors in and out of showbiz, yet Dimples imparted during her TWBA appearance in 2017 that the three of them are still able to keep in touch. Since Kath got busy with her series, “La Luna Sangre” that year, it was her prerogative to invite everybody to a lunch out, which lasted for four hours.

Zsa Zsa Padilla and Sharon Cuneta

If there’s two important things that the younger generation of artists, especially the women, could learn from these two showbiz icons, it would be to not let fame get into their heads and to never allow rivalry to thrive. In her guesting in TWBA in May 2018, Zsa Zsa recounted that their friendship began when Sharon visited her at her dressing room during the run through of her first-ever concert in Araneta Coliseum in 1983 and brought her a cabbage patch doll. They hit it off because of food since both of them love to eat, especially mango jubilee.

Just like any friendships, there might be years when they weren’t able to spend time or at least speak with each other, yet they never got involved in any quarrels, controversies, or scandals—which is definitely great!

Cherry Pie Picache and the “Kontrabida Package”

Her “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” character, Marites, may have found a real “frenny” in Roda (Director Joel Lamangan), but, in real life, Cherry Pie have found hers from the barkadahan called “Kontrabida Package,” comprised of late actress Cherie Gil, Mylene Dizon, Agot Isidro, Director Andoy Ranay, and their bunso, Angelica Panganiban.

Since she seemed to have never taken on a kontrabida role yet, she’s considered an adoptive member of the group. While others tend to keep their circle exclusive, their barkada is very okay with “recruiting” and adding more members to their group, and one of the lucky ones was Nash Aguas.

They then went on to play a mini “Who’s Who” game, in which she tagged Agot and Mylene as the sexiest, Mylene as the “most mataray,” herself as the nicest, and Angelica as the richest.

How about you, Kapamilya? Do you have your own girl squads who empower, inspire, support, and love you—just like these celebrity friendships?
