We often wonder what message we would give our younger selves, and the answers reveal our deepest reflections---dreams, struggles, and lessons learned along the way. For the “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0” housemates, the question “If you could hug your younger self, what message would you give?” became a heartfelt moment of looking back on how far they’ve come.
For the Kapamilya stars, Carmelle Collado hopes that her younger self is happy and keeps on dreaming. “Dream big and put your heart in everything you do.” Eliza Borromeo acknowledged that her beauty will get her into a perfect place, but she also reminded her to work hard, “Pag-aralan mo rin maging talented kasi kailangan mo ‘yan ngayon.”
Fred Moser, Joaquin Arce, and Miguel Vergara gave themselves short but meaningful advice. Fred said to “Listen to my mom and dad always.” Joaquin urged his past version to never give up, “do your best, keep fighting.” Meanwhile, Miguel told the child he once was to enjoy his childhood years, “Don't rush to grow up.”
Lella Ford and Reich Alim chose reassurance. For Lella, “Ang lakas mo!”---a reminder of the strength she carries as she grows up. Reich, on the other hand, comforts the younger Reich with, “It will get better.”
Iñigo Jose tells himself to take things easy and not take life too seriously, “Everything will be alright in the end. Just keep having fun, everyday, day to day basis, ‘wag mag-isip ng sobrang layo, ako na bahala don.” Rather than giving advice, Krytal Mejes acknowledged her hard work and determination, “I would just tell her that I'm very very proud of her because she knows exactly what she wants and for me that's also the definition of Kabataang Pinoy.”
Lastly, Rave Victoria assures his younger self that patience will lead to dreams fulfilled, “Alam ko marami kang pinagdadaanan ngayon, pero makakamit mo din yung dream mo soon, hintay ka lang, be patient.”
The Kapuso housemates also expressed their gratitude and messages to their younger selves. Anton Vinzon advised himself to embody pagpapakatotoo, “Just be true to yourself, have fun.” Meanwhile, Ashley Sarmiento assured her old version that “Everything's gonna be okay.”
Caprice Cayetano urged the younger Caprice to keep on dreaming, “Ipagpatuloy mo lang lahat ng dreams mo and magiging worth it ‘yon.” Heath Jornales, on the other hand, advised the child he once was to work hard, “’Wag maging tamad and listen to your dad.”
John Clifford tells the truth that the journey for him would not be easy, but he will get to improve through the years, “There will be lots of ups and downs, pero your life is consistent naman, just keep fighting, lumaban ka and be happy all the time.”
Meanwhile, Lee Victor is proud of his what he became, reminding the old Lee to keep on fighting and never stop believing, “I know mabagal man dumating ‘yung mga opportunities for you but keep fighting, kasi darating din ‘yung tamang panahon na all of your hard work will be worth it.”
Marco Masa would be proud and happy to talk to the old Marco about what he has gone through over the years, “He’s still doing the things that he love, and that he's always trying to strive for improvement… sometimes things may be overwhelming at some point… but he’s still here.” He would also tell himself that he is on the right track, overflowing with love for his family, friends, and to God.
Princess Aliyah, Sofia Pablo, and Waynona Collings assured their younger souls. “Don't take life so seriously, and mag-enjoy ka habang bata ka pa." was Princess' reminder to herself. While Sofia is proud for making it through and reminds her to keep going, “Maraming pagsubok, but kakayanin mo lahat yan, and it will all be worth it… I love you!” And finally, Waynona Collings gave a short but sweet message, “You're doing great, just keep going and fighting.”
These reflections from the housemates are not just personal reminders, but also messages of hope and encouragement for the challenges they have yet to face.
