The competition is only getting fiercer, more surprising, and increasingly creative for Ka-Familiars Akira Morishita, Alexa Ilacad, Dia Mate, Jarlo Base, Jason Dy, JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano (as the duo JMielle) and Rufa Mae Quinto.
In this exclusive interview with the “Your Face Sounds Familiar” celebrity performers, their playful personalities come alive with infectious fun as they pick artists or icons for their fellow celebrity performers or even judges Sharon Cuneta, Gary Valenciano, and Ogie Alcasid to impersonate on a whole new level.
With her dazzling smile and sweet giggles, the Singing Reina, Dia, opts for Akira to perform an out-of-the-box impersonation that temporarily takes him out of his boy-group flair. She chooses international balladeer Sam Smith for Akira—a role first impersonated by fellow Ka-Familiar Jason in week 2, which he also won.
Appearing chill as always, the Breakout Crooner, Jarlo, hopes Pepe will take his acting talents to the next level with a Justin Bieber impersonation that showcases his trendy dance moves and heart-fluttering facial expressions.
For the human chameleon and Prince of Soul, Jason, he instead challenges “Your Face Sounds Familiar” judge Ogie Alcasid, hoping to see him transform far from his roots as a veteran of OPM ballads and romantic songs by stepping into the sparkly shoes of the Queen of Pop, Madonna.
Making the challenge more unpredictable yet undeniably entertaining, the Theater Rak-Star, Pepe, imagines all the judges—Sharon, Gary, and Ogie—sharing a collective rock-and-roll stage by reenacting rock powerhouses, something he has surely mastered throughout the competition.
“The boys are back” is the tagline the Ace Idol, Akira, intends to embody as he chooses fellow Ka-Familiars Jason, Jarlo, JM, Pepe, and himself to perform as the 5-member Filipino boy group he’s proudly a part of, BGYO.
In an adorable exchange, the Gen Z Total Performer, Alexa, wishes for Comedy Bombshell Rufa Mae to take on international living legends of the music scene—either Dolly Parton, or Janet Jackson. Meanwhile, Rufa Mae jokingly counters, recommending herself as the artist for Alexa to imitate.
Keeping the good times rolling, JM and Marielle, the Birit Duo, lightly suggest judges Gary, Sharon, and Ogie to try channelling each other.
