Christmas in the Philippines wouldn’t be complete without the familiar sound of carols echoing from house to house. To celebrate the season, we asked our favorite Kapamilya loveteams to share the very first Christmas carol they memorized, and they had fun and nostalgic answers to share!
FranSeth were quick to recall theirs, Francine Diaz chose the iconic ABS-CBN Christmas Station ID hit “Star ng Pasko” from 2009, while Seth Fedelin admitted he knows plenty of Christmas songs but sang one of the Filipino favorites, “Sa May Bahay Ang Aming Bati.”
Newlyweds LoiNie shared their top picks. Loisa Andalio also picked “Sa May Bahay Ang Aming Bati,” proving just how timeless the carol is for Filipino kids growing up, while Ronnie Alonte went with the classic “Jingle Bells.”
Real-life couple RK Bagatsing and Jane Oineza, known as RKAne, leaned into Tagalog carols for their answers. RK even sang a bit of “Kumukutikutitap,” proudly saying he memorized the entire song, while Jane happily followed with “Ang Pasko ay Sumapit.”
Meanwhile, “PBB Gen 11” alumni Fyang Smith and JM Ibarra, collectively known as JMFyang, also shared their first festive anthem. The two harmonized together with “Ang Pasko ay Sumapit,” making it their own memorable holiday tune.
From “Star ng Pasko” to “Jingle Bells,” our Kapamilya loveteams proved that the holiday hymns we grew up with have never left us and will always remain part of our holiday memories, reminding us that the spirit of Christmas is about love, joy, and hope.
