For the “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab 2.0” housemates, the question was simple yet exciting: “If you could swap lives with any Pinoy celebrity, who would it be and why?” Their answers revealed the reasons these Filipino celebrities inspire them.
For the Kapamilya housemates, Carmelle Collado chose any member of BINI, wanting to take on the challenge of their P-Pop idol life. “Siyempre kailangan pong mag-practice, sa dancing, sa singing, and of course nalibot po nila ‘yung mundo.” Eliza Borromeo wanted to experience what it would be like to be Anne Curtis, living a life full of travels. “’Yung magugulat ka na lang nandito po siya sa QC, tapos kinabukasan nasa America na siya--- 'yung gano’n,” she noted.
Lella Ford chose Angel Locsin, her ultimate idol. Fred Moser named Kapamilya heartthrob Donny Pangilinan, whom he grew up watching and idolizing, while Krystal Mejes chose her “What Lies Beneath” co-star Kaila Estrada, one of the people she looks up to in the industry. Miguel Vergara said he would like to experience the life of a good actor, selecting John Lloyd Cruz. Iñigo Jose went with Enrique Gil, while Joaquin Arce chose Piolo Pascual, wanting to know what it’s like to be as handsome as Papa P.
Rave Victoria selected Joshua Garcia. “Nai-inspire lang ako sa life story niya at mga achievements niya so far,” he shared. Meanwhile, Reich Alim named Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, curious about how it feels to hit high notes like Asia’s Songbird.
For the Kapuso housemates, they also picked the celebrities they look up to. Anton Vinzon wants to experience the lifestyle of Joshua Garcia. “Gusto ko talagang masubukan ‘yung mga watch niya, ‘yung lifestyle niya, ‘yung pag-arte niya—gusto ko talagang masubukan ‘yun.”
Fashion icon Heart Evangelista was another top pick. Ashley Sarmiento wished to experience a fashionista’s life—attending fashion weeks and owning luxury items. Caprice Cayetano noted that Heart is her idol, “Gusto ko pong magpaturo sa kanya ng mga fashion tips, [like] ano kayang pwede sa style na ‘to or sa mga heels na ‘to na ‘di ko naman nagagamit. Feeling ko po maa-answer ‘yun ni Ms. Heart.” Princess Aliyah also named Heart, admiring her fashion sense.
Another favorite was Kapuso heartthrob Alden Richards, with housemates hoping to live his life even just for a day. Heath Jornales dreamed to experience driving Alden’s cars, while John Clifford shared his curiosity about Alden’s daily routine, “Kasi nakikita ko marami din siyang activities like flying, mahilig din siya sa watch, so parang gusto kong ma-experience paano maging Alden Richards sa isang araw.” Lee Victor added that he’d like to experience Alden’s success, “He’s a successful businessman, he’s very successful in a lot of things---good actor, very talented sa singing, dancing, and hosting. It would be really nice, and I’m very curious what his life is like.”
DonBelle was also a popular choice, with Marco Masa picking Donny and Waynona Collings choosing Belle. For Marco, Donny Pangilinan is a great person he admires, even just from what he sees online. “Hindi ko man siya kilala in person, never pa man kaming nag-meet, but I’m really curious about how he lives his life. Idol ko rin ‘yun eh. I’ve watched some of his vlogs and nakaka-inspire. ‘Yung mga values niya, it’s something na I wanna learn from.”
Waynona went with Belle Mariano, admiring her acting skills. “Kasi ‘yung sa show niya na “He’s Into Her,” sobrang nagustuhan ko ‘yun and she’s so good. Parang I wanna be her for a day---I think it’s gonna be so fun,” she explained.
Lastly, Sofia Pablo said she wants to experience a happy life like Marian Rivera’s. “Ang saya ng family niya, she has such a good career, ang cute ng mga kids niya, she has the luxuries in life with her own hard-earned money,” she expounded.
Whether it’s living like a P-Pop idol, a fashion icon, or a good actor, the housemates’ choices show how much these stars inspire them, and how fun it is to imagine stepping into their shoes, even just for a day.
