Taking a gleeful break from their intense performances in the gripping “What Lies Beneath,” Kaila Estrada, Jameson Blake, Race Matias, Andi Abaya, and Marlo Mortel share smiles and engage in fun, friendly competition in the November 29 episode.
Throughout Pambansang Host Luis Manzano’s ever-engaging hosting of “Rainbow Rumble,” now in its high-powered second season, Kaila and Jameson maintain their cleverness and style, complemented by the lively, quick-witted exchanges of Marlo, Race, and Andi.
Post-match, the dashing actor Jameson, who portrays the complex and intriguing Anton Montenegro in the series, conveys his game experience alongside Marlo, whose character is set to debut in the highly anticipated episodes.
When asked about missing the jackpot round, Jameson let out a playful sigh: “I guess it’s just not my day today.” He also couldn’t help but beam at the fun moments of the competition and marvel at how even the “easy” questions had a tricky way of stumping the rumblers.
“I didn’t make it so far, but it was fun,” Jameson added.
Speaking about what made “Rainbow Rumble” challenging, Jameson pointed to the rapid-fire Tagalog questions, highlighting his English fluency as a Filipino-American and explaining how he needs extra time to process and translate them before taking a shot at answering.
Both actors draw on similar takeaways from the experience, emphasizing the crucial role of staying alert and focused while never forgetting to have fun. “[Though] it’s not so fun when you’re not answering many questions,” Jameson quipped.
For Marlo, who was returning to the teleserye spotlight, he stressed the value of knowledge—even in daily life: “You never know when you will need it the most,” he said.
Inevitably catching the viewers’ attention with his passionate and strategic gameplay, Marlo, even before stepping onto the multicolored tiles, already had a winning mindset. “I want to enjoy [it], but I [also] want to win. I want to give everything that I got,” he said.
Preparing for the game was effortless for Marlo, who was the declared and deserving rally winner among his peers. Aside from a cup of coffee, he was just as enthusiastic to be a player. “Wala akong talagang mental preparation. It’s just that I’m excited,” he expressed.
He showed his determination even more as he reflected on the moments he enjoyed: “The questions… [also ‘yung] pag-step sa tiles, na kahit ang dami kong setbacks, patuloy akong nag-push,” he said.
