Fresh from their successful show in Vancouver, the November 30 episode of “ASAP” officially kicked off the Christmas countdown with hosts Darren Espanto, Robi Domingo, Alexa Ilacad, and Edward Barber and show-stopping performances from our very own Kapamilya artists.
The opening performance featured the ASAP Chorale singing “Do You Hear What I Hear” by Bing Crosby, later on joined by Concert King Martin Nievera, Pop Ballad Royalty Erik Santos, Chief of OPM Ogie Alcasid, and Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano with their rendition of “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” by Band Aid.
This was followed by a soulful performance of Stevie Wonder’s “Someday at Christmas” by Pop Rock Royalty Yeng Constantino, Power Diva Angeline Quinto, and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid. The OPM icons then came together on stage to sing “Joy to the World,” popularized by Three Dog Night.
The “ASAP” family greeted viewers with the promise of yuletide cheer just 25 days before Christmas. “We will experience the wonders of His love,” Gary V. assured.
Before diving into more performances, the show first celebrated the achievements of Kapamilya artists. Regine won Best Original Soundtrack Recording at the Awit Awards for her song “Ulit-Ulit,” the official soundtrack of “Pamilya Sagrado.” From the recently concluded Star Magical Christmas Ball 2025, Kim Chiu was honored with the Loyaltee Award for her 20 years of service with Star Magic. They also highlighted the success of current Kapamilya series: “The Alibi” hitting #1 on Prime Video and “Roja” topping Netflix.
Best wishes were extended to LoiNie, ASAP Dance Siren Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte, who recently tied the knot, and congratulations to BINI for their successful “BINIfied!” concert held on November 29.
Viewers were later on treated to a performance of Ava Max's “1 Wish” by Belle Mariano, star of the highest-grossing Filipino film of 2025, “Meet, Greet, & Bye.” The film continues to run strong in theaters, now on its third week.
From Christmas cheer to celebrating our roots, the OG female dance group of the Philippines, the Sexbomb Girls, joined the fun as they graced the “ASAP" stage with their classic hit “Pik-piripik-pik.” They were later joined by “ASAP” stars Anji Salvacion and Jane Oineza, who brought the energy with a mini dance showdown alongside the Sexbomb Girls.
Next up, Kapamilya heartthrob James Reid returned to “ASAP” to swoon hearts with his latest single “You Deserve It!” James is currently preparing for a major project with Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo, expected to air next year.
After the lively performances, some of the best Kapamilya singers delivered a “thrillifying” performance of songs from the beloved Broadway musical “The Wizard of Oz,” tying it to the recent two-part film adaptation “Wicked: Part I" and “Wicked: For Good,” starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
Queen of RnB Kyla and Asia’s Fearless Diva Jona channeled their inner Glinda and Elphaba with a powerful rendition of “Defying Gravity.” This was followed by “For Good,” performed by Regine and Angeline, together with Alexa Ilacad and Kai Montinola. Accompanied on piano by musical arranger Mr. Homer Flores, who was also celebrating his birthday.
These ASAP singers delivered a “wickedfied” performance that kept the audience on the edge of their seats.
Visiting “ASAP” was Gerald Anderson, fresh from the success of his hit serye “Sins of the Father,” where he also made his directorial debut. Gerald was honored with the Loyaltee Award at the Star Magical Christmas 2025 for his 20 years with Star Magic. What’s next for Gerald? The Action-Drama Prince invited everyone to watch “Rekonek,” his first-ever movie as producer for the MMFF---marking another milestone in his career.
Following this highlight, the show shifted to a high-energy performance featuring the ASAP Supahdancers, led by Asia’s Pop Heartthrob Darren Espanto, who sang the viral TikTok dance hit “Maui Wowie” by Kid Cudi. He was later joined by Gela Atayde, Ken San Jose, Jameson Blake, JM Ibarra, and Fyang Smith, all bringing the stage alive with their dance to Poodee’s hit “Konokonoa.”
Two of the most iconic singers in the country are celebrating their birthdays and career milestones, continuing to make us proud every single day. Yeng, who will also celebrate her 20th anniversary in showbiz next year, performed her latest single “Gusto Ko Lang Sumaya.” The track marks Yeng’s second release as an independent artist.
Meanwhile, Angeline delivered an electrifying performance of “Kapangyarihan” by Ben&Ben featuring SB19, followed by Bamboo’s classic “Tatsulok.” Angeline is celebrating her 15th year in the industry, along with her return to acting in the suspense-thriller film “Ang Happy Homes ni Diane Hilario.”
The two powerhouse singers capped off their segment by greeting each other a happy birthday, exchanging wishes for continued success, strength, and healthy lives for themselves and their families.
Continuing the early Christmas party were ASAP icons Ogie Alcasid and Erik Santos, together with ASAP Champions Reiven Umali and JM Yosures, performing the Eraserheads classic “Christmas Party.” This was followed by the Sidlak Bisdak duo JMielle---JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano---who performed their newly released Christmas song “Paborito Kong Pasko.”
Keeping the energy alive, four talented and empowered ladies, the stars of the Kapamilya series “What Lies Beneath,” Janella Salvador, Sue Ramirez, Kaila Estrada, and Charlie Dizon lit up the “ASAP” stage with a performance of Marian Rivera’s 2009 dance hit “Sabay Sabay Tayo.” The track also serves as the background music for “What Lies Beneath’s” opening credits, paired with eerie whistles that set the tone for the suspenseful series.
The four actresses gave a show-stopping number, dancing and grooving in their black-and-white ensembles. Afterward, they were joined on stage by their co-actors Jake Cuenca, JM de Guzman, Jameson Blake, and Race Matias to invite viewers to watch the series.
When asked how they felt about the audience’s support, Janella Salvador expressed gratitude, “We’re just so thankful ‘cause we worked so hard on this show. It’s not an easy show, sobrang suspense gabi-gabi.” Charlie Dizon playfully reminded everyone not to hate her character, Beth, while thanking viewers and encouraging them to keep watching.
The final segment of the show featured solid acts that kept the energy high. Fresh from his successful US tour, Gary V delivered a vibrant performance with Darren and Iñigo Pascual, singing Gary’s classic hit “Sa Yahweh Ang Sayaw.”
This was followed by an enchanting dance number from Queen of the Dance Floor Kim, who performed to “Darkside" by Neoni. Kim also stars in “The Alibi" alongside Paulo Avelino.
Lastly, Martin Nievera brought festive cheer with his rendition of John Legend’s “What Christmas Means to Me,” joined by Jed Madela, Jason Dy, and Khimo Gumatay---all looking dashing in their grey suits.
With birthday greetings and words of gratitude to the Kapamilyas, the ASAP family closed out the celebration by singing the 2025 ABS-CBN Christmas Station ID “Love, Joy, Hope: Sabay Tayo Ngayong Pasko” in their Love, Joy, Hope shirts. This was made even more touching with Gary V’s closing spiel, “Lagi nating tandaan na anuman ang pagdaanan, sabay tayong magmamahalan, sabay tayo sa kasiyahan, sabay tayong aasa, sabay tayong lahat ngayong Pasko.”
