Samuel (Gerald Anderson) takes the stand and is interrogated by Leah (Shaina Magdayao). She begins by asking if he was involved in a scam, which Samuel denies. He supports his statement by saying that the first and last time he met with his father, Mike Trinidad (John Arcilla) was at the Golden Trust Bank, ever since they left him.
Leah then brings up the kidnapping incident involving their son, King (Clave Sun). She expresses confusion over why the kidnappers did not demand ransom money, but Samuel says he does not know why. Leah questions his involvement with the scammers, and another flashback shows him meeting with Diego (Tirso Cruz III), who wants Samuel to replace him as the leader of the syndicate group, Bakunawa.
While Samuel denies any involvement, Leah challenges him on how he can vouch for the reliability of his testimony. Samuel reiterates that he is doing everything to protect his son and that he never forgets to be a responsible father. But Leah remains unconvinced, pointing out that he spoke only of his hardships, not of any solution to protect their son from the danger around him.
