“ASAP’s” milestone celebration of 30 years of Filipino pride and music in Canada continued in the second installment of the “ASAP in Vancouver” show broadcast on Sunday, November 2, as more and more Kapamilya idols and Filipino global artists made their appearance on the party held at the Pacific Coliseum last October.
The Part 2 episode commenced with Robi Domingo, Belle Mariano, Darren Espanto, Alexa Ilacad, and Edward Barber welcoming everyone from Prospect Point, one of the famous landmarks in the said Canadian city, as well as giving us a recap of what went down during the first part aired the previous Sunday (October 26).
Kim Chiu began the series of talent showcases with her sultry “River” dance performance alongside G-Force. It was succeeded by the amusing banters among Darren, Klarisse de Guzman, Angeline Quinto, and Piolo Pascual, as they commented on the dance number of Chinita Princess, enjoined the sweethearts in the audience to show their love on the “ASAP Kiss Cam,” and introduced the next set of performers.
With G-Force being part of the “ASAP” Family for years now, the group was given a special segment, in which its founder and leader, Teacher Georcelle Dapat-Sy, presented their latest project called “G-Force Global: The Flip.” Launched in January 2025, the project provided an opportunity for the G-Force Global students not just to train under top-caliber dance coaches but also to share the stage with Kapamilya stars Shaina Magdayao and Enchong Dee during the Vancouver show, wherein they exhibited what they got and what they had learned over the past months.
Together, they grooved to SB19 hits “CRIMZONE,” “DAM,” and “Bazinga,” with Shaina sharing how G-Force had helped her develop their dancing skills and Enchong imparting that the project is “ASAP” and G-Force's way of paying it forward. Teacher Georcelle then invited everyone in the live audience to also get on their feet and dance with them.
From the invigorating dance number, the venue was afterwards filled with shrieks as Kapamilya new-gen heartthrobs took the stage, with the “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” star Joshua Garcia leading the pack. He serenaded everyone with Mayonnaise’s “Jopay” and went down the audience area to personally mingle with the kilig spectators.
“Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11” alumni Jarren Garcia and JM Ibarra were joined by Seth Fedelin and KD Estrada in singing Cup of Joe’s “Tingin,” while Iñigo Pascual and Darren Espanto won us over with their rendition of Skusta Clee’s “Dance With U.”
As they asked one another the best ways to make Filipino kilig, Darren, Belle, Robi, and Edward then introduced the next set of performers, which includes international hitmaker David Pomeranz, who may be American by blood yet Pinoy by heart. He made us fall in love again with his live performance of his well-loved timeless hits “Got To Believe in Magic” and “King and Queen of Hearts,” which have become among the favorite lovesongs of Filipinos through the years.
He was joined by Martin Nievera, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Ogie Alcasid, and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, who interviewed him afterwards and informed him that there was actually a marriage proposal that happened while the five of them were performing onstage.
Darren, Belle, Robi, and Edward then brought us to the Lion’s Gate Bridge, where they introduced the next song number headlined by Jolina Magdangal, who touched our hearts with her performance of her own song, “Kapag Ako Ay Nagmahal.”
Three new generation Kapamilya loveteams then set our hearts aflutter as they sang three other songs of the Pinoy pop culture icon. KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad (KDLex) performed “Laging Tapat,” JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith (JMFyang) sang “Tameme,” while “Sins of the Father” stars Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin (FranSeth) rendered “Sana’y Kapiling Ka.”
As Darren, Alexa, Belle, Robi, and Edward tried to achieve their daily target steps at Vancouver Sea Wall, they enthusiastically introduced the electrifying dance performance of “It’s Showtime” hosts Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hilario. They channeled the inner “oppa” in them as they danced to the trending bop “Soda Pop” from the highly popular Korean animated film, “K-Pop Demon Hunters.”
Of course, as members of the dance group Streetboys, any performance of the Sample King and Philippines’ King of the Dancefloor wouldn’t be complete without them grooving to Ace of Base’s “The Sign” and Hanson’s “MMMBop,” which they popularized in the ‘90s.
The “ASAP” dance floor was further set on fire as proudly Pinoy dance artists based in Canada making their marks in the world’s dance arena joined forces with the finest and empowered Kapamilya female artists for a set of powerful dance collabs.
Belle Mariano grooved to GAT’s “Kakaiba” alongside Northside Dancers and Jon Ray Dy Buco, Alexa Ilacad danced to Alamat’s “Maharani” together with Josh Candy and Illustrative Society Dancers, while Loisa Andalio exuded swag as she performed BGYO’s “Divine” with Soñador Activity and Carlos Guinto.
Straight from Stanley Park, gregarious hosts Darren, Alexa, Belle, Robi, and Edward introduced the next segment, which was Anne Curtis’ highly anticipated rendition of the super trending song “Golden.” She indeed hyped everyone up as she belted it live, even repeating the chorus twice due to insistent public demand, making sure that the next one was higher than the previous one. And this performance unbelievably earned a standing ovation from the spectators!
Anne then made a curtsy as soon as she finished her number and asked everyone how her performance was. She went on to apologize to those manning the technical booth and express how happy she was to finally be able to sing “Golden” live. While she was delivering the rest of her speech, the crowd demanded for her to sing more, but Anne laughingly told them, “hindi ko na kaya!”
She conveyed, “Actually, I really want to say ‘thank you’ to everyone who watched and supported “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay.” Ang daming tumatawag sa akin ng Mia sa airport pa lang, so thank you. This was our loveletter to all of you, so thank you so much.”
As the “ASAP Kiss Cam” once again went around the audience area, Joshua, Piolo, and Robi teased Belle prior to introducing the next performer, “Nation’s Mowm” Klarisse De Guzman. She sang her latest single, “Dito Ka Lang, Wag Kang Lalayo,” the official soundtrack of the upcoming ABS-CBN Studios series “The Alibi,” which premieres November 7 on Prime Video.
Its lead stars, Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, emerged onstage, spreading kilig vibes as they performed Eyluke’s version of “Bakit Di Totohanin,” through which the actor exhibited his skills in rapping and making his leading lady and the spectators exhilarated. Of course, their set didn’t end without their thrilling banter, in which Paulo used the title of the song they just performed to tease Kim—much to the kilig of everyone, especially their fans.
The second part of ASAP in Vancouver concluded with the all-star cast of the show singing “We Are Family” together with the guests.
