One of the most noteworthy Kapamilya love teams to date, LoiNie—Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte—has steadily surprised the public this November with their sweet and romantic revelations, something they actually have frequently done since publicly confirming their real-life relationship seven years ago.
Just last Friday, November 21, the nine-year couple took to Instagram to give an official—and slightly subtle—confirmation of their rumored engagement, with Loisa delicately showing off her jaw-dropping diamond engagement ring as she held their adorable furbaby.
The heartwarming moments of the Kapamilya sweethearts don’t stop, as just a few days later, on November 26, they released the behind-the-scenes of the proposal to Loisa—from choosing the rings to bringing Loisa in for what seemed like a normal vlog review, and finally, to Ronnie’s soft, simple, and genuine “Will you marry me?” moment.
Thought the surprises would pause for a moment? You’re in for a ride, because the pair added a cherry on top of their growing list of touching moments. Just a day after the proposal video, it was Ronnie’s turn to make things known when he posted a lovely black-and-white photo of them in their wedding ensembles.
What makes the couple’s love story truly buzz-worthy is that, with all the on-screen love teams we’ve seen—and even with artists who are simply “shipped” for their perceived chemistry—finding a long-lasting relationship seems challenging, both inside and beyond the industry. Yet here they are!
The beginnings of their happy-ever-after can be traced back to ABS-CBN’s noontime show “It’s Showtime,” with Ronnie first appearing in the boy group Hashtags in 2015. A year later, former “PBB All In” housemate Loisa debuted in the all-female dance and singing group GirlTrends.
In an exclusive StarStudio.ph interview, the two shared how they first went out together, having a meal after an “It’s Showtime” filming, with Ronnie acting on his courage and Loisa admitting she had a crush on him even before joining GirlTrends.
Starting in 2018, their joint projects increased, with both participating in the horror-comedy film “Da One That Ghost Away,” with Loisa as the young Canturzia and Ronnie in a special role as Isagani.
2018 was also the year they began sharing the wonders of their relationship, as throughout their interviews with the prominent hosts of “iWant ASAP,” “Gandang Gabi Vice,” and “Tonight with Boy Abunda,” they officially revealed that they had been together for two years.
Moving forward with love literally in the air, they soon debuted as a reel-to-real couple in the fantasy-serye “Wansapanataym Presents: Gelli In A Bottle,” with Loisa playing the titular character, Gelli, and Ronnie portraying Robin.
They also didn’t miss the highly anticipated 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival, starring in the fantasy-comedy film “Fantastica,” with Loisa channelling her inner princess as the blonde beauty Rapunselya, and Ronnie portraying Vice Ganda’s brother in the film, the bad boy Dax.
In 2019, their on-screen pairing settled even more firmly as they starred in the “MMK Jersey” episode, a role that came naturally to them as they brought to life the varsity-courtside reporter tandem in the love story of former University of the Philippines basketball player Paul Desiderio and his reporter girlfriend Agatha Uvero.
Switching up genres, they took on another “lovers” role in the action-drama primetime teleserye “The General’s Daughter,” portraying Ivan Cañega and Claire del Fierro.
2020 was a pure teen rom-com year for the two, as they headlined the film “James & Pat & Dave,” with Ronnie and Loisa portraying the titular characters, James Raymundo and Pat Reyes. The film is also a sequel to the 2016 hit “Vince & Kath & James,” in which Ronnie originally shared the story with Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia.
Going beyond Kapamilya shows in 2021, the ever-loving pair lit up the screen in iWant’s original mini-series “Unloving U,” with Loisa as Fiona Acosta and Ronnie as Alfie Almeida, showcasing their perfected rom-com vibes. They followed it up with another iWant project, this time more hugot-filled and heartbreaking, where Loisa portrayed Mara and Ronnie played Gab in “The Goodbye Girl.”
Diving into a ghost-core romance, they became the faces of the drama-romance “Love in 40 Days,” with Loisa playing a ghost named Jane, who soon meets Edward, a musician and the son of a funeral home director.
Another MMFF feature, but in 2022, the couple took on roles in the film “My Teacher,” bringing back their A-student and jock vibes, with Ronnie as Francis and Loisa as Erica.
Wrapping up their latest acting stint together, as the two now focus on individual projects, they starred in the crime drama “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” in 2023, with Loisa portraying Amanda 'Amy' Paraiso and Ronnie as Jonathan 'Jonaf' Salvador.
