Amid all the trials and conflicts surrounding her grandson Tanggol (Coco Martin), Tindeng (Charo Santos) could not stop herself from worrying deeply about him, and with tears welling in her eyes, she confided to Alfredo (Juan Rodrigo) about her fear that Tanggol’s world seemed to be growing smaller and more dangerous by the day, thus feeling scared for his safety.
Alfredo reassured her that God would guide Tanggol. But while Tindeng shared that same faith, she also could not silence the fear of what their enemies might attempt, wishing she could be the one to take every blow meant for her grandson if it were only possible.
Wanting to help Tanggol in any way they could, Tindeng and Alfredo planned to hasten their investigation in hopes of uncovering the Guerrero family’s illicit activities before Tanggol fell into their hands. Alfredo strengthened Tindeng’s resolve by telling her that she must hold on to her dream that someday her family would be made whole again, and that Marites (Cherry Pie Picache) and Tanggol would find their way back to her.
When Tindeng asked why he felt so sure, Alfredo said it was because he had lived through a similar distance himself, having spent long years away from her yet choosing to believe that their paths would cross again, a prayer that was eventually answered. He added that with the goodness in Tindeng’s heart, heaven would surely be on her side.
