Secrets, betrayal, and shocking revelations continue to unfold as Samuel (Gerald Anderson, Leah (Shaina Magdayao), and Diego (Tirso Cruz III) face battles that test their loyalties and families in the November 14 episode of “Sins of the Father.”
As every move brings them closer to the truth behind Bakunawa, Diego continues to pull the strings.
Jacob and Roldan part ways
Jacob (JC de Vera) convinces Roldan (Joko Diaz) to take over Diego’s position in Bakunawa, as no one trusts Diego anymore. “Bakit hindi ka gumagalaw?!” Jacob shouts, his frustration getting into Roldan.
But Roldan pushes back. “Jacob, ‘yan pa rin ang iniisip mo? ‘Yang Bakunawang ‘yan?” He confronts Diego, insisting that his loyalty was never about Bakunawa. Bakunawa doesn’t matter to him.
“Jacob, alam mo ba kung ano importante sa'kin ngayon? Ang importante, maibalik ‘yong anak ko!” He urges Jacob to focus on what’s more important than Bakunawa.
Jacob, however, reminds Roldan of their shared past. “Ito na ang mundong alam ko. At hanggang ngayon, hindi mo ‘ko iniintindi!”
With emotions running high, Jacob declares that it’s time for them to part ways. Roldan turns to Xenon (LA Santos) and asks him to look after Jacob before leaving.
Johnny finds out the truth about Tanda
Johnny (RK Bagatsing) meets up with his girlfriend, who reveals she’s leaving for Cebu, says she’s learned too much. “Nalalaman? Tungkol saan?” Johnny asks.
She explains that Congressman Montelibano (Simon Ibarra), Pastor Ferdie (Joel Saracho), Valentino Narciso (Mel Martinez), and two other men held a secret meeting at the VIP bar where she works, discussing about Samuel Trinidad. “Siya raw ‘yong napiling papalit doon sa sinasabi nilang Tanda.”
Johnny is confused by this revelation. “Sigurado ka ba diyan?” he asks, but his girlfriend is certain.
He recalls how Samuel once pointed directly at Diego as the true head of Bakunawa. The pieces finally fall into place. “Tama nga si Samuel. Si Tanda nga si Diego Ramirez. Ang tunay na ulo ng Bakunawa.”
With that, his girlfriend quietly leaves, leaving Johnny to grapple with the truth.
Samuel is on a mission to escape
Samuel is in jail when officers suddenly order him to come with them. “Huwag ka nang pumalag! Sumama ka na lang!” they threaten. Samuel grows suspicious, fearing for his life. “Kasabwat n’yo si General Ramirez! Alam ko!” he accuses, as they drag him away.
Just as they’re about to leave the station, they run into Johnny. The officers lie, claiming they’re transferring Samuel to a more secure cell. Johnny resists, insisting he still needs to interrogate Samuel, who is accused of being the head of Bakunawa. Another officer argues that Samuel’s accomplices might attack them to free him. Chaos erupts between the police officers, and Johnny discreetly slips Samuel the keys to his handcuffs, leaving Samuel’s next move in his own hands.
As Samuel is taken away, a mysterious motorcycle rider tails the police vehicle. Suddenly, another rider blocks the path, and they get into a fistfight. The rider who intervenes is revealed to be Johnny. He confronts the mystery rider following Samuel.
“Papatayin mo si Trinidad, ‘no? Sinong nag-utos sa’yo?!” The rider removes her helmet—it’s Agnes (Jessy Mendiola), Johnny’s ex-wife. Shocked, Johnny blurts out, “Pambihira! Kailan ka pa naging sindikato?”
He accuses her of bombing General Ramirez’s car, but Agnes insists they are not enemies. She vows to save Samuel “Magkasama kami sa misyon ni Samuel!”
While Johnny suspects her motives, Agnes convinces him of her loyalty. “Kailangan kong iligtas si Samuel!” Finally, Johnny and Agnes set aside their differences and unite to rescue him.
Meanwhile, Samuel fights back despite a gun being pointed at him. He manages to knock the cops unconscious, while Johnny and Agnes engage in a shootout with the police. Together, they help Samuel escape.
Johnny confronts Samuel and Agnes
Johnny confronts Samuel and Agnes about their scheme. “So, matagal n’yo nang ginagawa ‘to? Simula pa sa Oriental Ridge? Ito rin ang dahilan kung bakit kayo laging magkasama?” he asks. The two nod in response.
Johnny presses further, asking if this is why Samuel is always with Diego, because Diego wants him to replace him as the head of Bakunawa. Samuel finally reveals the truth, “Dahil may taning na ang buhay niya [Diego].” Samuel reveals to Johnny that his father has a stage 4 brain cancer.
Johnny is in disbelief. For him, someone facing death should seek change, not commit more heinous crimes. He then turns to Agnes, “Papa’no ka naman naging parte ng misyon na ‘to?” Agnes recalls a painful past. “Naaalala mo ‘yong napatay ang tatay ko sa isang misyon, four years ago? Sa kanya unang napunta ang misyon na ‘to bago kay Colonel Enrico. Ang tatay mo ang pumatay sa tatay ko.”
The revelation shocks Johnny, but Samuel insists they are telling the truth. Slowly, Johnny seems to accept it and urges Samuel to escape, warning that everyone under Diego is after him. Samuel then escapes.
Arissa and Lolita call for public sympathy
Arissa (Francine Diaz) goes live online to defend her brother from the accusations against him. She recalls how their family has already been judged harshly ever since the scamming activities of their father. “He has sacrificed so much just to save all of us,” Arissa cries.
She insists that Samuel only became the fall guy of the syndicate he’s trying to expose.
Online reactions are divided—some netizens believe her, while others accuse her of hiding, acting, and demand that the family return the alleged scam money. Arissa defends her brother once more, saying he is doing everything to return the money to its rightful owners.
Beside her, Lolita (Lotlot de Leon) grabs the phone to speak up for her son. “Kahit hirap kami sa buhay dati, sinigurado ko na mapalaki ko nang tama ang anak ko. Kaya hindi totoo ang mga pinaparatang kay Samuel!”
Lolita pleads to the public, especially to the police and General Balagtas (Jett Pangan), “Huwag mong idaan sa dahas ‘yong kaso ng anak ko!” She insists Samuel still has a chance to win against the powerful people dragging him down, urging everyone to investigate the real man behind the scamming activities—Diego Ramirez.
Meanwhile, the people who knew Enzo (Seth Fedelin) gave them support as they leave supportive comments for Samuel and his family.
Leah ends things with Jacob
Jacob goes to their family home only to find it empty. He searches for Leah and Chloe (Cailey Magno), but no one is there. Furious, he realizes his family is gone. He tries calling over the phone, but there’s no connection.
Later, Jacob finally receives a call from Leah and demands to know where she took their daughter.
Jacob tries to convince her, insisting she shouldn’t have believed Samuel’s accusations. “I am not stupid. Pinagkatiwalaan kita, and yet, you chose to break my trust.” Leah makes it clear she is ending their relationship. Jacob reminds her of how much he helped her when she was down, “Ang kapal naman ng mukha mo, Leah. Ako ang umalalay sa’yo!”
But Leah reiterates that she isn’t leaving him because of Samuel, she simply believes Samuel is telling the truth. She tells Jacob to think whatever he wants. “Nagkamali ako na iniwan ko si Samuel noon para sa’yo. Yes, that ship has sailed. Pero ngayon, I'm starting all over again. Kasama ng mga anak ko without you!”
Leah ends the call, leaving Jacob consumed with rage, especially toward Samuel.
General Balagtas is after Samuel
A public announcement is made by General Balagtas, while being transported to another station, Samuel escapes with the help of two unidentified men believed to be accomplices from Bakunawa. “Dahil dito, nag-sponsor ang grupo ni retired police general Diego Ramirez, ang Commerce Society for Ethical Practices, ng sampung milyong pisong pabuya sa sinumang makapagtuturo sa kinaroroonan ni Samuel Trinidad!”
The general declares that Samuel is a public menace, a real danger to society. Meanwhile, Samuel remains on the run. He further orders all units to exercise extreme caution in approaching Samuel Trinidad, as he is considered armed and dangerous—and authorized to be neutralized.
Samuel calls his family
The order outrages Arissa and Lolita as they watch the news. Just then, Samuel calls Lolita through a burner phone he bought. “Samuel, nasa’n ka ba?! Ligtas ka ba?” Lolita asks, worried.
Samuel assures her that he’s okay and that Agnes and Johnny saved him. Lolita also reassures Samuel that she and Arissa are safe. She pleads with him to take care of himself. Paeng (Nico Antonio) promises to look after Lolita and Arissa, while Mael (Jerald Napoles) and his team remain off-grid—blaming himself for what happened.
Samuel insists that everything is Diego’s fault, and no one else should be blamed. He promises Arissa that they will be okay and reunited again after this ordeal. Samuel quickly ends the call as some locals spot him and begin to chase after him.
Later on, Leah receives a phone call from Samuel. He asks to speak with King (Clave Sun), knowing that so many people are after him and that he might be killed anytime. This could be his last chance to talk to his son.
King talks to his father, “Sabi nila, pati ni Lolo, bad ka raw. Pero ‘di naman totoo ‘yon, di ba, dad?” King cries. “King, kahit ano’ng mangyari, wag kang maniniwala sa kanila, okay?” Samuel assures him.
When King asks when he will come back, Samuel urges him to trust him and be strong. Samuel then bids goodbye, assuring King that he loves him.
Leah takes the phone and speaks to Samuel. He asks her “Kapag may masamang nangyari sa akin, ‘wag mong pababayaan ‘yong anak natin.”
Leah tells him not to think negatively. “Mas ligtas sa’yo si King, dahil kapag nasa’yo siya, hindi siya gagalawin ng tatay mo.” Samuel tells her.
Leah suddenly remembers the custody hearing and asks Samuel if Diego had something to do with her losing custody.
Leah is shocked. “I can’t believe it. He could do this to me?” She feels betrayed by her own father. “He chose to betray me dahil sa lintik na sindikatong ‘yan.” Leah thanks Samuel for telling her the truth.
Leah vs Diego
Leah gets on a phone call with Diego. Fuming, she asks him if he was Tanda. Diego is shocked and insists that her question is preposterous. Leah presses further, asking why Judge Santos favored Samuel during the custody hearing. Diego shouts, “Anong pinagsasasabi mo, Leah?”
Leah cuts him off, “Wag ka nang sumagot, Dad. I already got the answers that I needed.” Diego begins to lose his temper while Leah cries out in betrayal, “Nilaglag mo ‘ko para sa Bakunawa mo! Kinasusuklaman kita!”
Finally, Leah tells him that she has to do something—making Diego visibly nervous.
Samuel's next move
General Balagtas is furious, demanding to know who authorized Samuel’s transfer, leading him to escape. As he prepares to leave the station, Samuel—hidden inside his car—suddenly points a gun at him. What could Samuel’s true intention be?
In a world full of betrayal, Samuel must fight not just for freedom, but for redemption.
