Nostalgia and fascination powered the October 26 episode of “Rainbow Rumble,” which brought together five beloved Kapamilya child stars now blossoming into leading actors and actresses.
Together, Zaijan Jaranilla, Xyriel Manabat, Mutya Orquia, Rhed Bustamante, and Louise Abuel recall not only their shining moments as their younger selves but also the essence of the game.
In a heartbeat, all the stars kept their attention on the enjoyable aspect rather than dwelling on the fact that they hadn’t secured the winning spot in the jackpot round. “Siyempre nakakahinayang, but at the same time nag-enjoy ako sa buong proseso,” Xyriel expressed. It was also her second time on the show, as she had first participated with her fellow “PBB Celebrity Collab Edition” housemates.
Rhed also shared a similar sentiment with Xyriel: “Super grateful ako na isa sa mga friends ko ang nakapunta doon,” she said, addressing the rally winner, Louise.
On the topic of sportsmanship and playful competitiveness, Mutya and Zaijan let out cheerful laughs. “Okay lang. Actually, masaya ako kahit na inatras ako ng isa diyan,” Mutya commented, referring to the moment when Louise used his ‘atras power’ on her.
“Pero siyempre, lalabas at lalabas din ‘yung pagka-competitive n’yo,” Zaijan added, emphasizing that at first, he hadn’t expected to win the game and just wanted to enjoy it.
Speaking of the challenges, Rhed thought the numerous “Tile Breakers” were the most difficult point to overcome. Meanwhile, both Zaijan and Xyriel admitted that they felt a touch of frustration over the times they fell short on speed while trying to swipe their hands on the sensors.
When asked if they learned anything from “Rainbow Rumble,” the grown-up actors and actresses genuinely appreciated simply being in the present. For Rhed and Mutya, getting to enjoy every moment is definitely the cherry on top. “Sports ka lang. Enjoyin mo lang ‘yung game. Go with the flow [and] follow your instincts,” Mutya added.
Zaijan reiterated his answer about not expecting to win to enjoy the game better. Xyriel, on the other hand, was in total awe of the educational aspect of the game. “’Yung mga tanong na informative… Sobrang naaliw [din ako] sa trivia,” she further stated.
For Louise, he also highlighted the relevant questions, especially one of the six rapid-fire questions where the final answer was “San Agustin Church.” “Nagsisimba [kasi] kami doon pero hindi ko alam na siya yung pinakamatandang stone church sa Pilipinas,” he explained.
Not an ounce of pressure was felt by Louise before the game, as he shared that his only preparations were water, sleep, and relying on his stock knowledge.
Finally wrapping up the exclusive feature, Louise articulated that the best moment in the game was the test of his pure luck during the jackpot round. “‘Yun pure luck lang talaga. Hindi lang [ako] umabot [kaya] sayang,” he spoke.
