ABS-CBN Studios brings viewers another thrilling suspense drama series starring Janella Salvador, Sue Ramirez, Kaila Estrada, and Charlie Dizon. Anton Montenegro (played by Jameson Blake) and Marco Torres (played by Race Matias) are two characters associated with the main cast.
After starring alongside Sue in the films “Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa WiFi” (2018) and “Flower Girl” (2025), Jameson takes up his role as Anton, the series’ celebrity host from a wealthy political family and the husband of Mel Montenegro (Sue’s character).
Race, whose current acting credits include “Indak” (2019) with Nadine Lustre and Sam Conception and the hit series “Linlang” (2023) with seasoned actors Maricel Soriano, Paulo Avelino, and Kim Chiu, will play Marco Torres, Erica Melendez’s (played by Kaila) private investigator.
As the suspense-thriller “What Lies Beneath” premiered, Jameson and Race stepped away from the tension and joined the fun, playing “Two Lies and One Truth” on Kapamilya Chat.
To kick things off on a familiar note, the first round dives into the actors’ school days. Jameson starts strong with three amusing claims: he was the top student in his second year, he was a volleyball player, and he had a girlfriend back in his freshman days.
Race picked Jameson as having a girlfriend back in his freshman year, which was a lie; “[‘Yung] sa girlfriend kasi sabi mo singular, feeling ko plural ‘yung sa’yo,” he playfully reasoned. He eventually chose the right one, as Jameson was a top student in his second year, “lowkey flex,” Jameson added shyly.
Race’s turn includes being a member of a dance team, being a consistent honor student, and nearly being expelled from school. Jameson got the first try right by identifying Race as a member of a dance team. “Nagkakasama po sila sa ‘ASAP,’ sa mga production [or performances],” the host remarks.
Jameson restarts the game in the work or taping category by listing the following options: always being late, ordering breakfast via mobile app, and reading during taping. Race decides after a short period of thinking: “It’s hard, man. I’ve never seen you with a book. I’ll take a gamble and say that the one truth is that he orders Grab for breakfast.” The truth, however, is that Jameson sometimes read during taping but was unable to do so for “What Lies Beneath.”
The two rounds conclude with Jameson leading after correctly guessing one in Race’s list that included reading a script from his tablet, always having coffee, and never driving to work. Jameson, who was initially skeptical, eventually chooses the coffee option and proves himself correct.
The Kapamilya actors end up tied in the last category about friends, as both Jameson and Race chose having a Black friend as their final truths. “Baka same tayo ng friend, baka iisang tao lang ‘yun!” Jameson reacts.
To conclude game, the host asked for a “white lie” they had told. Both actors laughed as they lied about being “on the way” to some of their schedules. Jameson recalled, “the usual ‘yung malapit na ako or malapit na… I live in Pampanga [so] minsan, I’ll say nasa NLEX na ako pero paalis pa lang [talaga] ng bahay.”
Race agreed, “Same honestly… [I would say that] I’ll be there mga 10 minutes pero mga 1 hour pa [talaga], pabangon pa lang ng kama.”
Catch Jameson and Race on “What Lies Beneath,” weeknights on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live (KOL), A2Z, and TV5. Watch it in advance on iWant.
