"It's Okay to Not Be Okay" has always felt like a healing journey not only for the characters, but for us viewers. It's a 'storybook' about broken people learning how to breathe again. Episode 62 brings that full circle through Mia (Anne Curtis) and Matmat (Carlo Aquino)'s book which reflects everything the characters have endured together and everything we’ve learned from them.
The episode picks up from the party at the mansion, with Mia suddenly leaving the celebration after receiving a message, which turns out to be from the photographers who had prepared a framed copy of her, Patrick (Joshua Garcia) and Matmat's family photo which she plans to give them as a surprise. Unbeknownst to her, Dipong is tailing her car and is secretly informing someone about her location. Patrick catches up just in time, making Dipong back away before he can get any closer to Mia.
Mia feels 'kilig' knowing she made Patrick worried, her smiles breaking the tension as they drive back home. Together, they hang the framed photo on the mansion wall, but Mia jestingly comments that the picture is incomplete without “little Patricks” in it, hinting she wants to "talk" and make "little Patricks" in her room. Patrick, too tired for her mischief, just hugs her close and kisses her forehead.
The next day comes and the mess hall of OK Hospital is buzzing with excitement as everyone helps set up for the launch and reading of Mia and Matmat’s book, “Nakita Mo Ba Ang Mukha Ko?” Vincent (Enchong Dee) rushes around to make sure everything’s perfect, until Gemma (Kaori Oinuma) calms him down. She asks, almost teasingly, if he’s planning to go back to Manila now that Mia’s story is done. Vincent reveals that he's staying, not because his writer is in Maravida or because life there is cheaper but because he loves Gemma, who returns his confession with a kiss.
Jason witnesses the kiss, yet even he is surprised that seeing Gemma fall for someone else doesn't hurt. Maybe, he says, it’s because his heart has found a different kind of love from Patrick and Matmat, his chosen family. Patrick teases him, “Hindi sa amin ‘yan,” implying he knows there’s someone new filling Jason’s heart. He encourages his best friend to just follow where his heart leads, as the camera pans to Madeth (Xyriel Manabat), finishing the setup for the book reading.
The book reading gathers a crowd of staff, current patients, and even some who have already recovered from OK Hospital. The atmosphere feels emotional as each page of the book mirrors the lives of the people sitting in that room—Mia, Matmat, Patrick, and everyone whose stories have intertwined with theirs. Here is the story of "Nakita Mo Ba Ang Mukha Ko?"
"Sa isang kastilyo na nakatayo sa gitna ng gubat nakatira ang tatlong taong walang totoong mukha. Ito ay sina Mamang Kahon, ang lalaking nakasuot ng kahon sa ulo; Boy Maskara, ang binatang palaging natatakpan ng maskara ang mukha; at Prinsesa Waba, walang bakas ng pakiramdam ang mukha.
Wala silang mga mukha dahil kinuha ito ng mangkukulam ng mga anino na si Bruhanino. Dahil walang mga mukha at hindi nakikita ang nararamdaman ng bawat isa, madalas silang hindi magkaintindihan at mag-away.
Isang araw, sabi ni Mamang Kahon, "Kung gusto nating tumigil sa pag-aaway at makita ang kaligayahan, kailangan nating mabawi ang ating mga mukha. Sumakay si Mamang Kahon, Boy Maskara, at Prinsesa Waba sa sasakyang pamasyal para hanapin ang kanilang totoong mukha.
Isang araw, nakita nila malapit sa dalampasigan ang isang inang aso. "Ale, nakita mo ba ang mukha ko?" Umiling ang inang aso. Mapapansin ni Boy Maskara na umiiyak pala ito. Tanong niya, "Bakit ho kayo umiiyak?" "Naghahanap ako ng pagkain namin ng anak ko pero hindi ko napansin na nawala siya. Nakasunod lang naman siya sa likod ko." Iyak nang iyak ang inang aso. Nababasa ng luha ang buhangin na kinatatayuan nito. Napaluha na rin si Boy Maskara. Bumagsak ang mga luha ni Boy Maskara sa buhangin. Lilitaw ang tuta na hinahanap ng inang aso. Sa sobrang init ng panahon, nanghina pala ang tuta at natabunan ng buhangin. Masayang niyakap ng inang aso ang kanyang anak.
Nagpatuloy sa paglalakbay ang tatlo. Hindi nagtagal, isang payaso ang nakita nilang sumasayaw sa taniman ng matitinik na bulaklak. "Hoy, Payaso! Nakita mo ba ang mukha ko?" "Wala akong nakikita dahil sumasayaw ako." Nagtataka, tinanong ni Prinsesa Waba, "Bakit sumasayaw ka nang walang damit gayong matutusok ka ng mga tinik?" "Ito lang ang paraan para mapansin ako ng mga tao. Pero nasasaktan na nga, wala pa ring tumitingin sa akin."
Lumapit si Prinsesa Waba at sumayaw sa matinik na taniman kasama ang Payaso. "Gawa sa lata itong nasa katawan ko kaya hindi ako masasaktan kahit matusok ako ng mga tinik." Sa pagtama ng tinik sa lata, tumunog ang katawan ni Prinsesa Waba. Nang marinig ang mga alingawngaw, nagsimulang magpuntahan ang mga tao. Pinapanood na ang kanilang pagsayaw at nagbigay sa kanila ng masigabong palakpakan.
Pero biglang nagpakita sa kanila ang masamang si Bruhanino. "Kayong dalawa! Hindi n'yo na mahahanap ang inyong masayang mukha!"
Mia and Matmat take turns reciting the pages of their book until they accidentally read the same line together, unsure for a moment whose turn it is to continue. The room softens with laughter, and later, Patrick urges the two to reconcile. Touched by Matmat's words that he loves her because she is his family, Mia embraces her 'manong' before the scene closes with the two of them walking hand in hand through the facility.
The scene cuts to Eden, reading one of Mia’s books alone, with sinister music playing in the background as she whispers that it’s time to show who she truly is. The following day, Olivia (Maricel Laxa) visits Samuel’s (Michael de Mesa) grave with Dipong. She's holding a bunch of old letters. However, they rush to leave when Dipong sees a car approaching. It's Patrick.
While standing by the tomb, Patrick finds the stack of old letters—Samuel and Olivia's love letters for each other. The letters speak of anniversaries, promises, and dreams of a future they once planned together, confirming their relationship.
Patrick rushes out of the cemetery and tries to catch up with Olivia to confront her about the letters. Olivia admits that there was a time she wished she had been Ingrid, because if she were, she would have been Samuel’s wife.
A flashback then reveals the young love of Samuel (Geoff Eigenmann) and Olivia (Ara Davao), who became sweethearts back in their college days. Olivia came from a poor family, but Samuel accepted her love without question. She loved reading him poems and he would listen as if every word were a promise. But their story ends too soon when Samuel's family arranged his marriage with Ingrid (Empress Schuck) to save their family estate.
Since then, Olivia has lived with the pain of losing the only man she ever loved. She spent years searching for him until fate brought her back to his side at OK Hospital and she decided to care for him until his final breath.
According to Olivia, she never told Mia the truth because she knew that one day Ingrid would return. Cued to speak up, Dipong finally confesses that he saw Ingrid emerge from the lake alive on the night she allegedly went missing. Olivia then adds that when she later discovered Dipong was tending to the Hernandez mansion, she paid him to keep watch of Mia and any sign of Ingrid’s return.
“Buhay si Ingrid,” Olivia declares, to which Patrick replies, , “At hinihintay ko ang pagbabalik niya dahil gustong-gusto kong bigyan ng hustisya ang pagkamatay ng nanay ko.” He drives back to the mansion, certain now that if Ingrid isn't Olivia, then she must be Eden.
Patrick takes out a poetry piece he previously found at Eden’s house and shows it to Mia, who immediately recognizes her mother's writing style. “Eden is my mother,” Mia breathes out. They begin piecing the clues together, then Patrick realizes that Ingrid’s final manuscript mirrors real events from the past.
The last book Ingrid wrote tells of a witch who changes her face to start a new life. A flashback then reveals how she underwent the transformation with the help of her uncle, a skilled surgeon who performed the operation in secret. The camera pans to Ingrid staring back at her new reflection, now wearing the face of "Eden."
The butterfly now has a face, and so does the truth.
