Determined to get out of his predicament and to go home already to his family, Ramon (Christopher de Leon) exerted all the strength and courage that he had mustered to fight the Red Phoenix all by himself. Unfortunately, his escape plan was foiled by the Red Phoenix Group and its leader, Lucio Liberan (Ronnie Lazaro).
As Ramon managed to gun down several members of the group and go out of their hideout, Lucio and the Batang Tondo Gang arrived and immediately surrounded him to make sure that he couldn’t flee. Even before Ramon could fire his gun at Lucio, the latter was able to shoot him first, which caused him to fall on the ground.
He attempted to take the gun that he dropped, but Lucio was quick enough to step on it and kick him in the face. Lucio repeatedly kicked Ramon on his torso, with some members of the Batang Tondo Gang alternately hitting him in the abdomen with their guns.
