As an actress and trailblazer in the entertainment industry, Charo Santos is admired for the power, elegance, and wisdom she radiates. But many are curious about what she’s like on a more personal level—what does she truly enjoy when it comes to life’s simple pleasures?
Let’s take a peek into her world and discover how this power woman makes everyday choices in a fun ‘This or That’ Challenge, where she reveals surprising sides to her personality that her fans may not have seen before.
Charo hinted at her love for exploring new places and experiences when she chose vacation over staycation. When asked to pick between leading a creative project or championing a cause, she leaned toward the creative side, which we think shows her passion for artistry.
Now that she’s making TikTok videos herself, she admits it’s much harder than it looks! So, between TV shoot and a TikTok shoot, she went with the former.
She also chose flowers and chocolates over a handwritten letter. And her very practical reason was that a handwritten letter isn’t always sweet, as it could be a letter of breakup or goodbye.
She went all out explaining her answer when faced with the choice between television and cinema, acknowledging how both mediums shaped her into the artist she is today. She said she was also fond of radio and comics.
Some items, however, left her truly torn—like choosing between adobo and sinigang. To play it safe, she’d pick pochero instead! But when it came to deciding between a family dinner at home or fine dining outside, she said that she’d always go for the warmth of a home-cooked meal with her loved ones.
A lady boss like her knows the importance of starting the day strong. When asked whether she prefers breakfast or lunch, she revealed that she’s a heavy breakfast person. "Sa breakfast, kailangan may sinangag, tapa, longganisa, danggit, iba't ibang luto ng itlog, tuyo, 'yung marinated na bangus, tapos may kamatis at itlog na pula," she described, as if savoring the thought. By lunchtime, she’ll have a simple sandwich, and come dinner, a bowl of soup is enough to keep her full.
And then, her funny side came out when she joked, "Patayin mo na lang ako," after being asked to select between her iconic drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya” and her current series “FPJ's Batang Quiapo.” She likened it to choosing between the devil and the deep blue sea. On a more serious note, Charo emphasized that she loves both shows equally, making it impossible to pick just one.
Catch Charo as Tindeng in "FPJ's Batang Quiapo," airing weeknights, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, and A2Z.
