You might call her crazy or obsessed for holding on to a man who once betrayed her, but for Iris (Janine Gutierrez), every action she takes toward Tyrone (Jericho Rosales) comes from pure devotion. Just look at this Kapamilya Toplist of scenes from "Lavender Fields," and you’ll see that the truth is, she simply loves Tyrone so much.

Her words are laced with bitterness and anger, which we understands, knowing the pain Tyrone caused when he had an affair with Jasmin aka Lavender, played by Jodi Sta. Maria. Yet her eyes betray the truth—despite everything, her heart still beats for him.

This is clear in a scene where Tyrone unexpectedly calls Iris, telling her he’s ready to come home and face her. She responds angrily, questioning if he’s prepared to confront all his lies. With sarcasm, she says she’s thrilled and missed him so much. But deep down, we know she meant every word.

When they finally faced each other again, Iris may have shown her bitterness and pain through her words and actions, even pointing a gun at Tyrone. But all it took was a simple "sorry" from him, and she softened. When Tyrone hugged her, it felt like all the hurt was erased in that moment, as her longing for her husband took over.

In another scene, when they were back in the same room together, Iris was ready to be intimate with him again. A simple promise from Tyrone that he would make it up to her was enough to make her respond with kisses.

Though the pain and trauma of the past can't be erased immediately, a reassurance from Tyrone is enough to calm Iris down. There was a moment when she told him that if Jasmin found out Tyrone was alive and they were together, Jasmin might come to them again. But Tyrone promised that he would never let chaos disrupt their lives again, which reassured Iris enough to ease her worries.

There was another scene where Iris opened up about her frustration over sharing her father's love with her half-sister Heather (Analain Salvador). She was triggered and expressed that a man's love for two women can't be equally divided, just like how a man can’t love both a wife and a mistress. Tyrone understood that this came from a place of pain because of his actions, so he reassured her that she was the only woman he loved. And Iris believed every word he said.

Devotion was also shown when Iris listened to Tyrone and empathized with him when he was upset, thinking he couldn't please her father, Vitto (Edu Manzano). Iris assured him that it wasn’t true and that there would still be a chance to make things right. You can always count on Iris to do everything she can to make the relationship between her husband and her father work.

Gift-giving is one of Iris' love languages, and she shows this whenever she gives Tyrone special gifts, like an expensive watch, in one scene. He initially refused to take it, but she insisted, saying she just wanted to give him a present.

"I can't lose you again," she told him in another episode, clearly frightened, when he came home after participating in a dangerous operation with Vitto's group. He gently touched her hand to calm her fears, and then Iris lovingly embraced her husband.

So in moments when there were some questionable signs, like the possibility of Tyrone and Jasmin being together, fear, doubt, and hurt would wash over Iris again, and you could see it in her eyes. But her heart would whisper the promises Tyrone made, and she would choose to believe in him.

Don't miss an episode of "Lavender Fields," weeknights, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, and A2Z.
