SB19 member Justin de Dios is looking beyond music as he continues to build the creative world surrounding his latest single, "dahon."
Alongside the release of the song's official music video, Justin introduced three original characters — Treesha, JahJah, and Brodie — who serve as visual companions to the track's themes of love, growth, and resilience.
The characters are part of a broader creative universe that the singer-songwriter hopes to develop further in future projects.
"[These characters] are part of that larger world, and they help bring the themes and emotions of the music to life in a more visual and engaging way," Justin said in a statement.
The SB19 member shared that his love for character-driven franchises inspired the concept.
"As someone who has always loved cute and memorable characters from franchises like Pokémon and other games, I wanted to create characters that could serve as alternative visual representations of my music and storytelling," he said.
Justin also revealed plans to expand the characters' stories beyond the music video format.
"Fans can look forward to learning more about them through future releases and, hopefully, through merchandise, comics, or visual storybooks that explore their world in greater detail," he added.
The initiative forms part of Justin's larger effort to combine music and visual art into a single storytelling experience.
"I hope people will see the beauty and inspiration that can come from combining music and visual art into one experience," Justin said. "More than just enjoying the song, I want them to feel how different art forms can work together to tell a deeper story and create a stronger emotional connection."
Justin's world-building efforts are also finding their way beyond the screen. In partnership with Odd Cafe, the singer-songwriter is launching Dahon 19, an exclusive beverage inspired by the project.
Described as "a little cozy" and "a little energizing," the drink will be available at Odd Cafe's Makati branch from June 24 to July 2, offering fans another way to engage with the growing dahon universe.
The collaboration complements Justin's broader vision of combining music, visual art, and immersive experiences under a single creative banner.
Written by singer-songwriter Maki, "dahon" uses the imagery of a tree weathering changing seasons as a metaphor for enduring love and commitment.
The track is now available on digital streaming platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.
