OPM hitmaker Maki proudly showed support for his “super best friend” SB19 member Justin de Dios, following the release of the latter's latest single, "dahon."
On X, Maki expressed both gratitude and admiration for Justin, for whom he penned the song.
“Such an honor to fully write a song for an artist (whose) heart is as light as a leaf and as humble as (its) roots,” Maki wrote, describing Justin.

The singer-songwriter also reflected on his experience working with Justin on the track.
“Working with ü felt like we’re two stars in one constellation ⋆✴︎˚｡⋆ ✴︎˚ thank you for making me feel proud of what I do every time,” he added.
Maki ended his message by congratulating his friend on the release, expressing: “Congrats in advance brodiecakes! @justintdedios u truly worked ur magic on this one, as always.”
Justin later responded to Maki's heartfelt post, thanking him for both the song and his kind words.
“Grabe yung as light as a leaf and as humble as its roots!! keep off the grass lang ang kaya ko 😔,” Justin quipped.

He went on: “Pero thank u so much, Sir Maki, for this awe-inspiring and rapturous music!! I'm so grateful na mabiyayaan ng song from u cos I'm a fan btw. :p”
According to a press statement, "dahon" explores the enduring power of love and how it continues to grow over time.
"It’s a song about love that blossoms, thrives, and grows through time,” Justin said.
The SB19 member also shared that collaborating with Maki felt like a natural fit because of their similar artistic vision.
"Working with him is not only a great opportunity for my career but also an incredible experience," Justin added.
The collaboration marks another project between the two best friends. Justin previously appeared in several of Maki's music videos, including the latest song "habangbuhay pansamantala."
In an earlier interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Maki spoke about choosing Justin to appear in his "pink" music video, citing their shared creative mindset.
“Justin is a very, very intelligent creative. Marami kaming (similarities) and gets na gets namin ang isa’t isa. Noong sinabi ko yung ideas ko sa kaniya, sobra siyang game. Sobrang gaan katrabaho ni Justin,” he expressed.
He also praised Justin's talents beyond music. “Hindi kami nahirapan sa kaniya and sobra niyang professional. Ang galing niya mag-acting and director din kasi siya and actor.”

Speaking to ABS-CBN News earlier, Maki shared that their mutual love for the arts helped strengthen their friendship, along with fellow singer-songwriter Angela Ken.
"Para kaming kambal, 'yung mga ideas namin, the things that we want to do in our lives, 'yung mga hilig namin sa arts especially. Doon kami pinaka-nagkasundo, kasi Justin is mayroon siyang advocacy when it comes to arts. So doon kami pinaka-nagkasundo. Minsan lumalabas kami kasama ang mga friends namin. Para din siyang si Angela (Ken) for me, so naging triplets na kami. Ang saya-saya,” he expressed.
