“Para Sa'yo Ang Laban Na ‘To”
It was the song that athlete-turned-politician Manny Pacquiao released two decades ago with the help of composer Lito Camo. His song was played during his matches in the past and, up until now, has been referenced by many singers.
This wasn’t the only song that Manny has recorded. In fact, he released several songs and covers over the years, which have been well-loved by his fans.

Apart from "Para Sa'yo Ang Laban Na ‘To," the Filipino boxing champion has released "Lalaban Ako," a cover of "Sometimes When We Touch," and "Lahing Pinoy," among others. He has proven that he is more than just an athlete with a wide discography under his belt.
More than that, it became more than just a fight song for him as it also served as an inspiration to millions of Filipinos across the globe. The lyrics and heartfelt singing of the Filipino athlete that was put into making the song was the determining factor as to why it remains to be one of his most popular songs until now.
Manny has also used his voice and influence for the better. Back in 2021, the Filipino boxer joined the Isang Tinig, Isang Lahi fundraising concert in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Ang participation ko dito is isa lang ako sa nagbibigay ng inspirasyon sa ating mga kababyan at ang intention natin is para makatulong tayo. Hindi naman lahat matulungan pero at least malaking tulong itong online concert na ito at part of the proceeds or income ay itutulong din sa mga affected by the pandemic na nangangailangan,” he previously expressed.
True enough, Manny, despite being known as an athlete and politician, has given comfort and positivity through his music. May it be a reminder that "Para Sa'yo Ng Laban Na ‘To" is more than just a fight song for the Filipino champ–– it’s a cultural reset.
