Singer-songwriter Laufey’s deluxe album, A Matter of Time: The Final Hour has finally been released last April 10 via the online music streaming platform Spotify.
Laufey is an Icelandic-Chinese artist whose known for her modern jazz-pop sound with a mix of classical music. She won two Grammy Awards for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, winning in 2024 for Bewitched and in 2026 for A Matter of Time.
Originally released in August 2025, A Matter of Time debuted at No. 3 on the UK Official Charts, No. 4 on the Billboard 200, and No. 1 on the Jazz Albums chart. The album also earned Laufey her second Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album in 2026, following her 2024 win for Bewitched.
Blending jazz, classical, and pop influences, Laufey has built a signature sound defined by orchestral arrangements and introspective songwriting. A Matter of Time explores themes of love, anxiety, and self-discovery, which the artist describes as an “anxious Cinderella” narrative—romantic yet increasingly distorted and time-bound.
The deluxe edition, The Final Hour, extends this concept with a more introspective lens, focusing on acceptance, emotional uncertainty, and the passage of time. It features four additional tracks: “How I Get,” “Seems Like Old Times,” “Madwoman,” “I Wait, I Wait, I Wait,” and “I’ll Forget About You (In Time).” The lead single “How I Get” was released in February 2026.
An official music video for “Madwoman” is set for release on April 13 at 10 a.m. ET, featuring appearances from Alyssa Liu, Lola Tung, and Hudson Williams.
Laufey is also set to bring the album to international audiences, including a three-night run in Manila from May 26 to 28 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Tickets are available through SM Tickets outlets and online.
With The Final Hour, Laufey concludes her A Matter of Time era by expanding its emotional scope while maintaining the sonic identity that continues to define her place in modern jazz-pop.
