English singer-songwriter and producer Samm Henshaw delighted fans in his Manila show last Tuesday, February 3.
Henshaw performed his hits from 2018 like ‘Broke’, ‘Hair Down’ and ‘Get Back’. He also treated his Pinoy fans with ‘Wait Forever’, ‘How does it feel’, ‘Water’, ‘Stay on the move’, ‘Night calls’, ‘Still Broke’, ‘Troubled Ones’ and more.
His intimate show at Teatrino Greenhills lasted for more than an hour and a half, and fans got even more excited when he did an encore.

“I never do this (encore). They (band) know that I don’t do encores. I love you guys, you are amazing,” said Henshaw before singing ‘Joy’.
Iza Calzado was a surprise attendee. Speaking to ABS-CBN News after the show, Calzado shared why she’s a big fan of Henshaw and why it was important for her to hear the singer’s live version of the song "Joy." It was her nephew who introduced her to the singer.
“I discovered Samm, he (nephew) sent me the music of Samm in 2021. And then, we became Instagram friends, kami ni Samm, in 2022, pero 'yung parang nag-comment ka lang, parang I like your music ganyan. Finally, na-meet ko siya today.”
She continued, “Naiiyak ako, ‘Joy’ is a very special song, it’s related to Deia (her daughter), it was one of the songs playing, when I was giving birth. So medyo, hindi lang medyo, very special siya.”
Calzado was with her nephew, Gabby Padilla and actor Ketchup Eusebio who was also a big fan of Henshaw’s music.
“I was blown away, nagkausap lang kami (ni Iza), and may gig pala si Samm dito sa Manila, so speechless. Solid sobra!” Eusebio said.
Just like Henshaw’s song, the intimate show felt like a church for Calzado and Eusebio. “Para kang nag-attend ng service, ng Sunday worship kasi, ramdam na ramdam namin 'yung Diyos sa (mga kanta niya).” she said.
Towards the end of his show, Henshaw promised to be back in Manila for another show and as a fan, Calzado said “We hope that there are more people that can discover his songs and maybe this is an opportunity for so many people to get to know the music of Samm Henshaw ‘cause it’s really is something that will fill your soul.”
