Fresh on the heels of his second soldout Kolorcoaster The Concert: One More Ride! last weekend, OPM artist Maki revealed that there is a lot more fans can look forward to from him this year. He talks about his life on and off stage with PUSH BETS host Gary Ann Lastrilla in an exclusive interview this month.
“Okay naman, super overwhelmed and ang daming plans for 2026 and siyempre I’m still on a high from Kolorcoaster. Andun pa din ako,” he told PUSH BETS.
During the interview, Maki also talked about some of his best and worst experiences performing on stage last year. The 26-year-old Kolorcoaster singer admitted that his worst moment was when a fan unexpectedly went up onstage in the middle of a performance at the Sarangani Bay Festival show last May. Videos of Maki running away from her, but still performing, made the rounds online, with fans defending him for prioritizing safety, while others questioning why he did not just indulge the fan’s request for a photo.
“Last year, I got bashed for something na hindi ko naman fault. ‘Yung tinakbuhan ko ‘yung taong pumunta sa stage. Uy scary ah, scary ‘yun ha. Hindi naman kasi ako maarteng tao. Baka kasi inisip niyo ganun ako. Pinalaki ako sa kalye, kung di niyo po alam. Pero siyempre po kasi, may time for everything. ‘Yun ‘yung lagi kong sinasabi: may oras para sa mga bagay. Na pag may nag-pe-perform, we don’t need to go up. Sometimes the artist goes down ‘di ba?” he explained.

Despite getting some backlash from the incident, Maki said he wanted to just turn it into a learning moment for everyone in his team.
"Well, ganun talaga. May two sides of a coin every time. But I would say, I learned from it and people need to learn from it also. Muntikan pa siya madapa. So we don’t encourage that, for both sides. And siyempre, ma-ba-bad vibes din ‘yung team ko sa organizers, siyempre ‘di inayos. So it was a worst moment but I hope na may na-learn tayo dun. That we don’t encourage fans to go up unless they are invited. Kasi we never know. They know us but we don’t know them. Sa lahat ng artists ‘yan. Hindi lang sa akin. Kasi ako, lalaki nga po ako eh. Eh what more sa isang misogynistic society, ang puwede gawin sa mga babae ‘di ba?"
Whenever he does shows out of-town, Maki said he actually makes it a point to accommodate his fans‘ requests because he would like them to bring home good memories of his visit and performances.
“So yung pagpa-pa-picture din, binibigay ko naman ‘yung time ko. Actually, every time na pumupunta ako ng probinsya na hindi ko lagi napupuntahan, lagi kong binibigay ‘yung ganung moment kasi hindi nila araw-araw nakikita yung ganun, hindi nila na-e-experience yung araw-araw na ganun,” he added.
