Singer-songwriter Jeremy G marked his return to the music scene with his comeback album “ODDicted,” a project he described as both a bold risk and a personal milestone.
“I feel accomplished. It is the first one I fully co-produced, I also co-wrote. As a songwriter, I have only been the studio, the screen I work on. I do not see the reaction. So to have this event, I am enjoying,” Jeremy G said in an interview held during his listening party in Makati City last August 20.
The singer-songwriter looked forward most to seeing guests react live was “Why Me,” the most vulnerable track he has penned.
“I am enjoying everything, especially for ‘Why Me.’ It is very personal, it was about my struggle with mental health. But when people think it is about love, or if they get it right na anout mental health—it is really interesting to see their point if view,” he said.
Known for producing and writing for other artists in recent years, Jeremy G said the experience of hearing direct feedback for his own music feels different.
“For the past years, I have been producing and writing for others — so I can see those comments. But coming from my music now, it is extra gratifying. Sobrang thankful ako sa lahat nakikinig.”
He added that producing “ODDicted” challenged him further to experiment and take risks with its sound direction.
“I know it is not the typical OPM sound we have today but it is a risk I wanted to take personally. A mix of OPM and sounds I grew up listening to,” he reasoned.
Among the attendees of his listening party was Alexa Ilacad, AC Bonifacio, Harvey Bautista, Shanaia Gomez, and Kolette Madelo.
