Meet the 22-year old recording artist with the magnetic personality who's making a proverbial leap of faith with Tarsier Records.

Angia Laurel is a 22-year-old with a magnetic personality raised in Manila who's bold, unique, and full of life. To her, life is all about embracing colors, rhythms, and moments that she gets to create through music and visual arts.

To add, her artist background stems from way back. As a theatre actress and make-up artist, Angia has also been featured on some fo the country's most esteemed lifestyle-pop culture publications and won in NYLON Manila’s Big, Bold, and Brave Awards for Favorite Makeup Transformation.

She has dreamed of being an afrtist ever since her young years, dabbling in theatre acting and content creation at a tender age. Here's a video of her and childhood friend Sophia Laforteza of KATSEYE doing a homemade music video of them covering worldwide bedroom pop sensation Audrey Mika's "Y U Gotta B Like That" way back in 2019:

When One Music PH asked Angia about her childhood friend, she shares that she draws inspiration from Sophia’s journey and relentless drive.

Fast forward to 2025. Now she is embarking on her recording career with Tarsier Records, home of new generation favorites Angela Ken, Nameless Kids, Dani Zam and new falsetto multiverse superhero Maki. She made her debut with "Back Again", a song she co-wrote with studio producers Moophs and Nhiko Sabiniano of Nameless Kids which first appeared on the original soundtrack (OST) of the ABS-CBN hit TV series High Street

The music video successfully depicts and illustrates how anxiety and struggles can cause emotions to run high and be overwhelming at times in the video single-shot in a run-down establishment. The song captures the emotional push and pull of feeling overwhelmed and the search for a way to overcome life’s obstacles.

"Sometimes ten feels like a hundred

and the walls just seem too big

when the lights feel like they're burning

on my skin it makes me sick

when the silence sounds like screaming

and the air seems kinda' thick

when time loses it's meaning

I'm like, oh, oh I'm back again..."

“Just because it’s messy doesn’t mean you’re not on the right track. Life’s like that sometimes. I hope you all love this just as much as I do and maybe you can cry to this too,” she said.

Her leap of faith in staking out her recording career continues with the release of her new single "Talon".

The song was especially written by Angela Ken for Angia and produced anew by Sabiniano. "Talon" is a story of breaking free – from fears, from doubt, from the walls we built within ourselves. Carried by a powerful rhythm, it soars with the courage to face the unknown and while being true to yourself. It’s a song for those standing on the edge, ready to take the leap, trusting that the fall might just lead to flight. All it takes is one leap of faith to finally break free.

"Walang sinumang makakahila muli

Kahit na bumalik 'di na makakaulit

'Di kailangang kalimutan basta’t ika’y kumawala

Walang ibang pagpipilian kundi ang sarili lang

Kundi ang sarili lang..."

With Angia's powerful and beautiful voice permeating on her brand of alternative rock-influenced pop music, it's really difficult to comprehend that her leap of faith will pay dividends.
