MANILA -- The Nation’s Girl Group BINI bagged multiple honors at the 38th Awit Awards powered by Vibe at the Meralco Theater in Pasig City, Sunday.

BINI was voted the People’s Voice Favorite Group Artist, while their album “Talaarawan” won People’s Voice Favorite Album of the Year.

The group’s hit “Salamin, Salamin” took home the Best Dance/Electronic Recording, while their fanbase, the Blooms, earned the Vibe Stan Award. 

Other Kapamilya artists recognized at the ceremony included Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, who scored Best Original Soundtrack Recording for “Ulit-Ulit” from Pamilya Sagrado. Maki’s “Dilaw” was also named Best Pop Recording.

Best Regional Recording was snagged by Juan Karlos, Kyle Echarri, and Noel Cabangon while Best Ballad Recording was awarded to Moira and Juan Karlos.

The grand awards at the 38th Awit Awards were given to beloved OPM bands. 

Song of the Year went to “Misteryoso” by Cup of Joe, while Ben&Ben’s “The Traveller Across Dimensions “ earned Album of the Year. Record of the Year, meanwhile, went to the hit of Lola Amour, “Namimiss Ko Na.”

Special recognitions were also given to industry pillars, including Ely Buendia, who received the Dangal ng Musikang Pilipino Award. 

“I'm happy and proud,” he said. “I try to stay relevant by supporting younger artists. That is why I formed a music label.” 

'BINIfied' concert to feature exclusive and never-before-seen performances

Performances included BINI’s “Salamin, Salamin,” Regine Velasquez’s duet with Rob Deniel, and the aces of P-pop, BGYO.

“This is a way for us para maghilahan pataas and ma-acknowledge natin mga dapat ma-acknowledge,” BGYO member Gelo said.
