"I feel like our goal as artists and as KATSEYE is to constantly try new things, and to be able to give our fans different things to listen to."
These were the words of Sophia as KATSEYE discussed their goal as a group. In an interview with iHeartRadio, Sophia remarked that as a group, they aim to showcase their versatility.
"We want to reach a wide audience, and we also want to show versatility in our artistry and try new things," she said.
The singer went on: "We are so new so we are still trying to figure out what exactly that KATSEYE sound is, but it's more of the goal of sort of showing the different colors that we have, because not only we are diverse as KATSEYE but individually we have our different music tastes, our different personalities, our aesthetics, and all those things so we want to be able to show as much as we can."

She explained that it is for this reason that their first Extended Play, SIS (Soft Is Strong), featured songs in various genres.
"That is why it was really fun to sort of come up with 'Gnarly' and 'Gabriela,' and 'Game Boy' along the rest of our EP, and show that evolution and the versatility of our music. We believe in that truly so we want to continue to show that," she said.
In the same interview, the group discussed how they maintain their individuality while being in a group.
"Stemming from Dream Academy where like we did have to compete, it was against each other, but it was also kind of against ourselves in a way," Lara recalled.
She added: "We really had to like fight for ourselves and show why Lara, why Yoonchae should be in the group. I feel like we had to be very strong who each one of us is individually. And I feel like we've definitely done our best to carry that into the group and show it through things like in our songs, if we get the opportunity like Spanish verse, and like through our style, makeup, hair, everything, even in our singing style and dancing style."
Lara highlighted that embracing their individuality is essential to each member.
"There are so many ways and so many outlets for us to show our individuality. I think it is very important to us to always do that and make it a point but still be together and be cohesive," she stated.
