MANILA -- Some of the members Smokey Mountain, the iconic youth music group formed by National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab, had a mini-reunion.
In a social media post on Wednesday morning, January 15, Geneva Cruz uploaded photos taken from their reunion dinner on Tuesday.
Present were original members Cruz, Jeffrey Hidalgo, Tony Lambino, and James Coronel. Also present was Shar Santos from batch 2 of the popular '90s group.
"I had a great time at the Smokey Mountain mini-reunion dinner last night! It was fantastic to see you, @shar_silonga," Cruz captioned her post.
Santos, who initiated the reunion dinner, also uploaded snaps on her social media account.
In May 2023, Cruz and Hidalgo said they are open to have a reunion but this will depend on Cayabyab.
Smokey Mountain is behind the songs "Kailan," “Better World” "The Coconut Song," and “Paraiso.”
Last May 2020, after 25 years, the group reunited virtually for the show "Bayanihan, Musikahan" during the pandemic.
