Zayn Malik paid tribute to Liam Payne during the first show of his Stairway to the Sky tour at the O2 Academy Leeds in England on November 23.
As per posts of fans online, a screen paying tribute to the late One Direction member was flashed on the stage at the conclusion of Zayn's concert with the words: "Liam Payne 1993-2024 Love You bro."
The track "Stardust," from the Room Under the Stairs album of Zayn was playing while the said tribute was flashed onscreen.
It can be recalled that Zayn postponed the kickoff of his tour in the US, originally scheduled on October 23, following the passing of Liam last October 16.
"Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I’ve made the decision to postpone the US leg of the STAIRWAY TO THE SKY Tour," Zayn announced on social media back on October 20.
The US leg of the tour has been reschedule to January of next year.
Zayn, alongside fellow One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan, attended the private funeral for Liam in England on November 20.
Liam passed away at the age of 31 after falling from the third floor of Casa Sur Hotel in Argentina as per the Buenos Aires police. His death was confirmed by the medics at the scene.
Zayn released a message on social media following his bandmate's passing, remembering the positive outlook of Liam from the early years of their band.
He was also all praises for the musical talent of the late singer, sharing, "I was always happy to know, no matter what happened on stage, we could always rely on you to know which way to steer the ship next."
Zayn added "I lost a brother when you left us and can't explain to you what I'd give to just give you a hug one last time and say goodbye to you properly and tell you that I loved and respected you dearly. I will cherish all the memories I have with you in my heart forever."
